Fluval Plant 3.0 LED Planted Aquarium Lighting, 32 Watts, 24-34 Inches

This is not my first set of these lights. I want them on all my tanks, but it’s hard to come up with $600 all at once! I’ve thrown away so many failed plants I don’t even want to think about the money I wasted, but now all my plants are thriving under these lights. My aquarium started out with several plants all neatly scaped, and then it turned into a jungle! The more plants there are, the happier my fish are. But what attracted me to these lights is the ability to not only time the lights, but the ability to control the brightness and intensity, as well as the color hues. I can set the lights to begin low at 6 am, and have the brightness increase over the next half hour - an then increase again around noon, start decreasing in the evening, until they gradually shut off at night. Once the days start getting shorter, I can adjust the time to turn on later, mimicking winter. I never did like having a dark tank and with a flick of the switch, it’s full daylight. That’s not how it is in the Amazon or Thailand. You set the lights on your smartphone, and once they’re set, you can forget about it - unless there’s a power outage, when you would have to reset the lights. There are additional pre-set options, one that mimics a thunderstorm with lightening, but I can’t imagine why you would use that because I think it would stress the fish. I have 2 more sets to go and then every tank will have one. Yes, this is more money than I have ever spent on aquarium lights, but they are worth every penny.

Bought it for a planted tank. Nice functions for light control. Bright enough that I dont run it at 100% Dislikes: Needs to be reset after loss of power.

The health of my plants really shows after having used this light. Previously, I had a poor quality light that I purchased with a 20 gallon aquarium kit. I think it is better to just spend some extra money on higher quality products because it is worth it in my opinion. My fish are thriving and my friends are amazed when I change the light colors and brightness with my phone. I also love how you can set the time and even length of the sunset and sunrise.

The fixture is low profile, sleek, and just looks great! It’s very bright and lights up my planted 15g very well. The app is pretty cool. Has some great features and let’s you control pretty much everything you could need to. It’s a little pricey tho IMO...

Very sleek light, not as bright as expected but would work perfectly for more shallow tanks. The bluetooth control is smooth and easily understood, however more control might be desired by some users. It does not keep time after a power outage, but reverts to sleep mode when the power returns until someone connects to it via app and kicks it back on track with set programming. That is probably my only complaint as Ill simply be buying a second to reach substrate with higher lighting at 24 to combat that issue. I would definitely recommend light in the right situation

I have had my light for 2 days and I must say I am impressed. The only negative is the app is a little clunky but I am sure I will get used to it. The light does what it says it will do plus some. Currently using the automatic mode and will be customizing the light shades based on research and how my plants respond. My fish genuinely seem to like the sunrise feature as they immediately become active as the light switches from night to sunrise to day.

I would buy more if I had more tanks, the only minor drawback is the actual time of day the light believes it is. When it first comes on or is plugged in, it believes its 00:00:00 (midnight) , and bluetooth doesnt sync the local time very well at all. There is a public work around available online, I just chose to plug mine in at midnight (and every time there is a power outage)

Love the product. Can customize how much light is on throughout the day mimicking the natural progression from sunrise to sunset. Only drawback is that the light temperature gets pretty hot if you have it on high brightness for a long time. Overall I am extremely pleased with the product and it’s performance.

These are great lights but I absolutely hate the fact that Fluval tells retailers to ship these lights in the original boxes. Come on Fluval! Get it together! At least include styrofoam in the box if you’re instructing retailers to ship in original box, without protection. Great light but I’ll never feel confident that the 3 lights I’ve ordered weren’t damaged during shipping. The retailer did an excellent job shipping this light lightning fast a week before Christmas.

Super bright if you want it to be. The smart phone software makes this highly customizable. If you crank this up your plants will grow at an alarming rate! LOL Be careful not to crank it up to 100% right off the bat as you may find yourself with plants and algae growing out of control.
