> 24 hourI loved this movie when it first came out, and 19 years later the feeling is still the same. I loved the scene where Evelyn is in her carr at the Winn Dixie and the car with the 2 young, model snob types take the space from her. As theyre walking into the store, she confrotns them and they tell her, Face it lady, were younger and faster! Towanda emerges and she starts to ran the back end of their car with hers. The scene continues when they run out and ask her whats wrong with her. She tell them, Face it girls, Im older and have more insurance! Who hasnt wanted to do that? Who hasnt felt that way at least ocne in their life?! The scene also continues into this hilarious scene with Jessica Tandy. This movie is a classic and worth every penny. And if you cant afford the movie, rent it! This movie is great!

> 24 hourFried Green Tomatoes is an ensemble film about a group of women living in the rural south in a town called Whistle Stop. Starring Oscar winners Kathy Bates and Jessica Tandy, the movie co-stars Mary Louise Parker and Mary Stuart-Masterson, all performing in roles that were tailored made for the actresses. Bates stars as a woman who has reached middle age and is being taken for granted by her husband. While visiting a nursing home she befriends an elderly lady, played by Tandy, and the two become each others confidant. Parker and Masterson play women who eventually fall in love at a time when homosexuality wasnt accepted or permitted. The movie was based on the novel, The Whistle Stop, written by TV comedian and personality Fannie Flagg, best known for her stint on the 70s gameshow Match Game. The movie was both a critical and commercial success, grossing nearly $120,000,000 at the boxoffice. The DVD comes with commentary, an excellent documentary on the film called Moments of Discovery featuring interviews with the cast, plus more.
