This is just a great game for all. Started playing with my youngest when she was four, but even adults enjoy it...over and over and over! Each player is dealt four cards face down and needs to remember what card is where, so this is where your memory come in. You replace cards from the draw pile or discard pile, with low score winning. When you think you have the lowest score, you knock saying Rat-A-Tat-Cat, and each other player gets one more turn. We play dealers choice: No peek to start, 1 peek, 2 peek, 3 peek and 4 peek. One game does not take long, so you can get many games in, or just one. Simple addition practice.

We love this brand of games- other favorites are Sleeping Queens and Sushi Go! Since our family can play together, we wanted to pick up another fun one and this one is great. We got it as part of a bday present for our 7yr old. He has picked it up pretty quickly. Definitely recommend this one!

Fun, but like other games from Gamewright even better like Sushi Go; Gonuts for Donuts; and Iota

While the game itself is a great one, I bought it for one amount not knowing that when I finally got it the cost had doubled. I thought when I ordered more than one item at a time, I was saving shipping costs but that certainly didnt work in this case. I could have gone to the store, bought the game and paid less!

I purchased it for my grandson 5th birthday. I never had a chance to play a game with him, but I know he loves it.

Gamewright games are the best. Got this to play with my grandchildren who are 6 and 10. We had lots of fun.

It"s never too early to develop a good poker face. With Rat-a-Tat Cat, a poker face is just one of the skills players need to perfect. As in poker, luck, skill, strategy, and intuition each play a part. Players are dealt four cards, which are kept face- down, except for a quick peek at two of them. Each player in turn pulls a card from the draw pile to replace one of the four. Memory is important, as the object is to end with the lowest score, and players must keep track of the values on their four cards. "Peek," "Swap," and "Draw Two" Power cards turn up occasionally, allowing players to maneuver and strategize further. Delightfully witty pictures of cats (the good guys--low points) and rats (bad guys--high points) illustrate each of the 54 cards. Young card sharks will develop a sense of timing and greater ease with numbers, and can begin to grasp the concept of probability. Winner of Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Best Toy Award and the 1996 Mensa Best New Mind Game. For 2 to 6 players. --Emilie Coulter
