> 3 dayI was comparing this watch with the Apple Watch and finally bought it as the price dropped to $482.49. For a sapphire watch with all the health features, the construction of the watch, and overall, what it can do, this is clearly a win!

> 3 dayI bought this watch for the topo maps and gps (not cellular) mapping for hiking and off-trail trekking. I thought the other features would be too complicated - crazy button pushing scheme to navigate. However using and paring up the app was not a bad process, and within a day I was pushing the buttons with ease, and operation is not that bad. Now I’m totally hooked on my sleep cycle and stress charts. I didn’t have to set up my goal steps, the watch did that for me using my actual steps from the first day or two. The app also works perfectly with the health app from my iphone as well as myfitnesspal app. I enter data as usual and the garmin app does the rest - even calculating how many calories I’ve burnt on a walk. Best of all my watch battery lasts 9 days on one charge. Way better than an apple watch. Plus, I have a gps mapping system wherever I go, and don’t have to worry about keeping it charged up for a few hours hike. My new favorite toy!!

11-06-2025I had a Garmin Vivoactive 3 that had been dearly loved, but was now down to about 24h of battery between charges, so bit the bullet and sprung for the Fenix and am disappointed I didnt do it earlier. Fantastic battery life (10-14 days, depending on what Im doing) and plenty of additional smarts - some gimmicky, some less so. The body battery is a good example. Rather meaningless, but I do like it. The screen is clear, customisable through the Garmin app store and resistant to scratches, even as the non-sapphire model. The buttons are old-skool, but solid and far more reliable than the touchscreen of the older vivoactive, which used to go crazy when wet.

> 3 daySleep tracking is pretty good but I think Whoop was the best Ive tried for that feature alone.
