> 3 dayThe description of this product leads one to believe that it will, on its own, work with Alexa. This is mostly not true. I say mostly because, like so many others writing about this device on Amazon, one month later, the device stopped working and would never again connect to Alexa. Further research lead me to purchase a SmartThings hub... it worked and was able to use the SmartThings Alexa skill to control the GE dimmer. However, if I knew that I needed to buy, and configure, another hub (at cost of $119), I never would have purchased this device.

Greater than one weekIt is great because there is no app needed so set up is easy. There is also a non switched plug on the other side which has been very helpfull!

> 3 dayThe GE Plug-in smart dimmer is exactly what I was looking for: an easy way to use existing or specialty bulbs (such as incandescent or LED based Edison style bulbs) alongside the rest of my connected bulbs using the Philips Hue bridge (its all ZigBee, it should work!). After cycling through every single wireless channel with attempted touch link and force pairings (even resetting the GE dimmer to factory defaults and trying again), I couldnt get it to link up to my system. Upon further research, I discovered the GE dimmer uses the Zigbee Home Automation protocol (version 1.2), while the Philips Hue system is only compatible with ZigBee Light Link (not sure what version). It is simply not compatible unless Philips upgrades their system to ZigBee 3.0 and implements the combined ZHA+ZLL protocol. I hear the hardware is compatible, its just up to them if they want to or not...and given their current stance on third party expansion, it seems unlikely to happen. Philips Hue users: look elsewhere, this wont work for you. Everyone else: no idea if itll work or not. Three stars for a lost evening of futile troubleshooting and poor clarity regarding what ZigBee compatible actually means.

> 3 dayThe install was simple and straightforward, linked right up to my SmartThings hub. However, the connected lights don’t turn off fully when the switch is off, they stay on at around 1% brightness though the app shows the switch is off, even if the physical button is pressed. Anything above 89% causes the lights to flicker then switch back to 1% brightness. Tried different lights and circuits with the same result. Obviously broken out of the box. Returned for a different model.

> 3 dayThis paired and worked with Home Assistant easily. Used an incandescent bulb the dim function is fine. Used my dimmable led under the counter lights they flicker. Im very unsatisfied with the dimmable function of this product.

Greater than one weekI should have looked and read the info more carefully. This will only allow control for a device that doesnt have a ground plug. The passthrough has it but the control side doesnt.

> 3 dayUnit will randomly shut off the light, at which point it becomes unresponsive to Alexa. However, if you shut off the lamp, using the lamps own switch, and turn it back on, the light lights up and it remains responsive to Alexa until the next random time it decides to flake out. I will be buying a different brand next time.

Greater than one weekWas able to get it synced with a Samsung hub and give it commands but it did not work with suitable LEDs that do dim properly on a manual lamp dimmer.

Greater than one weekDid not work properly with my HAI / Leviton Zigbee 3.0 81A00-3 hub. It would send the proper on & off statuses back to the hub when I pressed the manual button on the device, but it would not accept on & off commands from the hub so no remote control, which is what I purchased it for! Got Levitons plug in Zigbee module and was up and running in 3 minutes. All on and all off still didnt work with my Omni IIe, but you can fix that by adding a programming line when all off turn all 16 Zigbee modules off. This GE module is going back to Amazon!
