Gemini Taurus 3 Diamond Ring Saw

> 3 dayThis is the 2nd Gemini saw for us. FYI this is not their newest version but there’s not much difference between them. Also it does NOT come with a standard blade as represented. It comes with a ‘mega’ blade which maybe durable but not the best for glass cutting. We replaced the blade and the mega blade that came with the saw had rust spots perhaps indicating that the unit’s been around for awhile. Still it’s the same rugged unit and Taurus is a great company to work with. 1 star off for cheating us out of a useful blade.

> 3 dayThe Taurus Ring Saw is as I thought it would be. However, I have not had the time to try it out.

> 3 dayI use this saw for stain glass and find it the most important tool I have. I can now make pieces that are impossible to make with conventional equipment.

> 3 dayThe ring saw is great, but the manual is terrible. I broke a blade within a month. I still dont know what the problem was, but with a new blade I was able to complete my project and help out a friend with hers. I watched the videos on the Taurus web site - funny the first time but could have been more helpful than entertaining!

> 3 dayThis is my first ring saw. For those of us who are used to using a band saw this takes a little practice learning how to go around the blade and not just a straight vertical pull. Its ja little less than 10 lbs and at barely 18 wide it fits nicely on my kitchen counter next to my grinder. The customer Service rep (Barbara) is amazing, and wonderfully patient. My red water tub didnt have a water level line. Use 1 gallon of water so that it comes up to the middle of the lowest blue wheel (see page 5 - bottom of unpacking your machine column). The gray curved piece with the two red gear wheels is a blade stabilizer. When it comes out of the box its at its lowest position. I unscrewed the side Phillips screw and raised it up as high as it would go and then tightened it so that the blade was visible and there was room to move the glass around the blade. (see page 10 )

> 3 dayThis was an even replacement for the saw I had previously. Makes cutting glass much easier

> 3 dayWe had an original Taurus 1 that worked for years and many cutting blade replacements. Finally got to the point that the little guide wheels were so worn and impossible to replace that we bit the bullet and went for the NEW version. Should have done it sooner! Works like the original but BETTER! Better visibility of the cutting point, more precise control. Cant beat it!
