> 3 dayLove the patterns, colors, and thickness of mat. However, the bears music sound like it is dying out and most importantly, the metal rod on the end of one of the arches is sticking out which can harm baby. It is straight out dangerous. This is my third child, second activity mat, and I have never seen such poor quality and such a safety hazard. I would never purchase this again.

Greater than one weekWe got this play mat when my daughter was 5 weeks old and right from the first time on it she was completely engaged. She is now 3 months and she still likes this mat a lot. It is high quality and highly engaging. Great gift for a little love

> 3 dayPLEASE READ! I hate giving one-star ratings just to flag attention, but I feel this is important. We loved this play gym for several months. My daughter took a liking to it at a very early age. That said, as a first time parent, the design of it never struck me as a problem until today, when my 9-month old very quickly and easily pulled a button off (They are used to secure the cross-supports to the base of the play-gym) and popped it in her mouth. Luckily, she was being supervised at the time and I was able to scoop the button out of her mouth before she could attempt to swallow it. It would have only taken three seconds of me turning my back or not paying attention for things to have gotten worse. I inspected the other three buttons and found two to be pretty secure, the the third was loose and I was able to pull it right off. A product made for a baby should NEVER contain buttons or parts that small, especially if they could potentially come off. I have already contacted Genius Babies to ask them to immediately remove the buttons from this design. If you are the happy owner of one of these, Id advise you ditch this play gym altogether or at least remove the buttons. Edit: A representative from Genius Babies called me the day after I sent feedback from their website. He was very apologetic for the problem. He asked me several questions about the incident and assured me that my message was being forwarded to several different departments and they would do everything they could to fix the problem in future production as well as follow protocol for warning current owners of this flaw. Though Im still irked about the buttons being there in the first place, Im at least happy they are taking this incident very seriously and are doing everything they can to avoid a potentially hazardous situation from occurring with one of their products. 2nd Edit: Im really disappointed to read a more recent reviewer mentioning that Genius Babies left the buttons on the design and simply used larger ones on this play gym instead of foregoing them altogether. I find that to be a poor solution to the problem at hand. PLENTY of play gyms/infant toys dont use buttons and other small parts because theyre just not necessary. I cant say that Id ever consider supporting this company as it seems like a haphazard attempt to fix to what could be a very serious problem. As for those who have dismissed my review saying it seemed like their buttons were sewn on well, this goes to show that quality control is lacking in Genius Babies products. I recommend Fisher Prices Luv-U-Zoo Play Gym, which we received as a gift and my daughter really loved it. And NO small parts on it.

> 3 daymy daughter now loves this, however we got rid of the center flower/mirror. The mirror had bent which actually made her scared of the thing until I figured it out. I love the black and white and red coloring for easy to see patterns for new babies. Now that we have switched out that one hanging toy to one she can reach for we use this on a daily basis, and it can keep my 3 month old entertained for an hour!

19-11-2024My 1 month old absolutely adores this playmat. She was intrigued by it at 2 weeks old and now can spend up to 30 minutes hitting the toys and observing all the patterns. The only reason I took one star off is because the material on the mat is pretty rough so its not ideal for tummy time.

> 3 dayMy husband and I were looking for a sharply contrasted black, white and red baby gym for our son. Young babies cant always see/ focus very well and the sharp edges and contrasting colors do catch their attention. Everything we saw in store was the complete opposite of what we wanted and that was extremely disappointing. I saw tons of reviews saying that the color on this mat bleeds in the washer turning the mat into a black, pink and red mat and that made me postpone ordering it. Once I finally did order it I put off washing it for fear that the colors would bleed. Then one day my dog marked the rug, foam mat and baby gym all in one quick shot and I had to wash it. The color didnt bleed, I used cold water and a bit of oxy clean to get out the urine. The black did fade in the drier from a less BLACK black, to a more average black but the mat still looks great. Also I loved the little hanging toys that came with the gym. They were adorable and my son loved them. The singing panda and the squeaky caterpillar thing were favorites for awhile. The arms that hold the gym arms to the mat are now connected by short ties instead of the buttons I had read about in older reviews. I felt that should be included in this review because no parent wants to buy a choking hazard for their child.
