I wanted to have an extra gasket for my toilet.

My in-suite toilet would every so often sound like it a was automatically flushing itself all through the freakin’ night! It kept me awake! I thought it was the flush mechanism so I changed that! Then I observed that it was this O- ring that needed to be replaced! This item is the original Kohler replacement. Don’t buy the fake ones, you’ll just waste your money. These aren’t so expensive anyways. Save yourself the headache and get this original replacement! Getting my well deserved zzzzs!!!

This was a necessary repair part to fix a toilet that kept randomly running. It was easy enough to pull the canister out of the tank and replace the seal. The old seal all but fell off on its own. There are some good videos on YT that show exactly how to replace it.

We have four of these toilets in the house as part of custom new construction as recommended by the install plumber, it is just a matter of time before the seal is compromised. It is a five minute fix to replace a seal once you have done one and are now over the fear of breaking something when twisting the vertical pipe a bit. See a whole slew of you tube videos on how to replace this seal, search leaking Kohler toilet. Please stay away from non-genuine Kohler replacements. If you have several of this type of toilets, consider just getting a spare and have it on hand for the next time. The three I have replaced, one lasted over four years, another between four and five years, and the other almost five years.

Easier to install than the whole can assembly. If all of your plastics are still in good shape, but the flusher sticks or the water is always running, the this is the easiest fix.

My daughter and I were able to easily replace the gasket on my Koehler toilet. I ended up paying a little more for a genuine Koehler gasket and there was a You-Tube explaining how to do the replacement. Very straightforward!

My water bill was going up. I thought time to replace flapper but my Kohler toilets didnt have that. Plus one toilet took a lot of pressure to push down handle to flush. Kohler said that symptom was due to an old flush valve seal. I replaced two toilets that had the old red flush valve seal. They were stretched out. One of the toilet was easy to twist cylinder tube and install it. The other seemed like it would crack so I did as one viewer suggested and just slipped it on and pushed it down the black cylinder tube. Of course the purpose is to save on water usage by sealing off the water when not in use. I am waiting to see if my water bill goes back down. If not, time to put on my water detective hat again.

I had a condition that my wife researched and found to be called phantom flush. The toilet was slowly leaking and having to refill itself every few minutes. I investigated and found that if I moved the seal around a little on the canister valve, it would stop... but only until someone flushed again. In the end, I realized that the original seal seemed a little stretched out, so I ordered this one. I went with OEM after reading some so-so reviews on the aftermarket seals. This was a little bit costlier, but three months of not having to hear the toilet randomly refilling itself all through the night makes it totally worth it. If this one fails over time, I will absolutely buy it again.

Our home was built in 2013 and the builder put in Kohler products throughout the house. Fast forward to 2021 and some toilet flush mechanisms were getting harder to flush and it turns out that these gaskets need to be replaced to maintain a tight and smooth seal between the tank drain and filll cylinder, especially if you have hard water or big changes in temperature. In our case, the hard water basically dissolved the original gaskets and it was sticking to the tank drain hole when flushing. The new one is super easy to install taking only 2 to 4 minutes. After the install, the flush mechanism is super smooth and water seal is tight. Stick with original Kohler parts for exact measure and perfect fit.

For me, getting the chain off of the cylinder took a while. Gasket works. I took a leap of faith that this part would fit my Kohler toilet. Whew, it did.
