Easy to install, not terribly expensive and does what it is supposed to do. The amount of dust it catches is amazing.

Easy to change! Good price. Refill also has the black filter, it is on the underside. Below is the one that came with mine initially and the new filter to the left.

My mom was a very heavy smoker and these filters made visiting her SO much more pleasant. In her small apartment, the smoke hung thick in the air and could really be overwhelming. After starting to use these filters, it was a completely different experience.

Used to be much better quality- the top and bottom of the filter used to have some foam padding for a snug tight fit. Now the fit doesnt seem air tight. Also the pre-filter is shedding black debris everywhere. Its so thin and poorly made. When you put your hand on it youre fingers are covered with black debris? Was it always like this?

Aug. 2019 product recd. Update on prior reviews. Been ordering these filters multiple times for a very long time. The purifiers work so very well. Noticed that the pre-filters are getting thinner and thinner. The 2 I just received are tissue paper thin and many spots thin enough to see the pleats on the main filter thru. Will keep an eye going forward to see if the filters are made thicker (as they used to be). If not, this will cause the main filters to have to be replaced even more frequently. Not something I am willing to purchase more frequently if not necessary. Works wonderful and keeps the air cleaner then expected for a smaller unit. Filter is easy to install and has to be changed with your usage of the purifier. A great system.

Purchased this E style replacement filter pack for our Germ Guardian AC4100 (the little one that looks more like a speaker). Have had the air purifier for just about a year, but officially only has about 5 months of use on it. Both filters were quite dirty, so figured it was time to replace them. As far as I can tell, this was the genuine filter set for our purifier. Visually the same as the old filters (minus all the nasty filth), and fit into the purifier exactly the same. Have had the new filters in for half a day and can notice a positive change in the smell in the room, and the purifier seems to be running just a little quieter. Old filters may have had a little restriction, or I may just be imagining things.

These filters last for less time than they say they are supposed to. And, the charcoal filters are not as effective as some of the other brands available. However, they do work well for about a month & 1/2. Nowhere near the 6months as stated on their product information! Ive found that it does a much better job when I use their HEPA filter with another brand of charcoal filter. If you are thinking of buying an air filter from Germguardian, Id suggest that you buy one to two sizes larger than they recommend for small rooms.

I had my air filter for about 8 months. I have been using it 24/7 more frequently because I now live with a cat and am allergic. As you can see it works very well. I noticed when it needed to be changed when I started sneezing and was congested. Once I replaced it, I slept amazing that night with no congestion in the morning! It lasts a long time and is SO easy to replace. A very reasonable price for how long it lasts. I will update when I replace this current one to give a more accurate length when using it 24/7.
