Gran Turismo 6

IF you have never played a GT game and want to start with GT6, I would highly recommend that you get GT5. The tire squeal is WAAAAY too loud, the engine noises (that were a highlight of the GT5) are much quieter and have less bass. The handling of the cars is more realistic as well in the previous version. Unless Polyphony Digital gives us an excellent update, I will keep playing GT5.

Just out of high school and looking for a job I only had a few hundred dollars on my checking account on me. I went to the computer store to buy some paper to make a resume and while standing in line I saw a kiosk of Gran Turismo for the playstation. Got out of line... played a few laps with a champion white honda NSX on stage route 5....was blown away how fast and smooth it was..music was great.. nsx was my favorite dream car... got back in line and bought my paper..

I love the series and they did a better job this time around with the physics. It is much easier to spin out or lose traction which is much more realistic than the previous game. it made racing too easy. this is a better version. the into sucks period and the weird Japanese UI is distracting but its all about the racing anyway.

The interface seems like its from an older card based game or something. The game play is phenomenal, although if you are an experienced GT5 user and youre switching right over...you know how it is re-starting back at the beginning...easy races in slow crappy cars that you win very little money in.

I read many other reviews, mainly after reading about the update fiasco. Got the game, and am in the process of doing the updates as recommended in other reviews. However. I got distracted during an update download with 12 remaining, and accidentally downloaded 3 of 12, and canceled on the 4th. Shut off internet, opened game, and went through install process, and it worked. I feel like I got lucky. But just wanted to let everyone know that once you get to 12 remaining, you can download 3 at once, and it will still work.

Purchased as gift for relative. Preordered and was really happy with the service received. He was thrilled with this new version.
