I absolutely love this product and have used if around the world (Europe, America, the Mediterranean, and South-America). I tried other filters but they either failed (Survivor filter failed on me 2nd use) or were hard to use (LifeStraw) or didnt filter virus (Sawyer Squeeze). This one solves all of those issues! Thank you Grayl! Now PLEASE make either 1) a lower profile lid for the Grayl GeoPress (so it will fit inside side slim side pouches better), or 2) make a taller version (more volume) of the Grayl Ultralight with a lid that is slim profile (so fits in slim zip-up side pouches on backpacks) but has a twist top to let air escape (the benefit of the GeoPress lid).

Expensive, but good. If I was stuck in the middle of nowhere, I would choose this for water filtering. You need the water bottle to attach it to, so the price adds up.

Did a 3 night canoe trip down the namekagon river in northern WI, brought this with and didnt have any issues. Used it for drinking during the day and cooking at night, no stomach issues during or after the trip. Seems to work great, cant ask for more. Pushing water through the filter is a bit of a chore but not overly so.

The replacement filter is simple and easy to use. A filter lasts a good amount of time, unless you try to use really silty water. But that is common sense. No filters like water that is too dirty, even with pre- filters available. The beauty of this filter, honestly, is it’s simplicity. If you want to get rid of the filter cartridge, it costs about $30.00, and you almost have a new filter-pretty cool.

When I first started researching for a water filter to use for a trip to multiple countries in southeast Asia, with widely varying levels of water quality, I assumed those straws would be more than adequate . After reading up on them, I realized that I needed more. The Grayl fit that bill...and did the job that would end with COVID-19 shutting things down a couple of weeks after that trip. Subsequently, on my return to normalcy, Im much more aware of germ breeding grounds...specifically public water fountains at amusement parks. While a filter will easily do the job, with then additional knowledge of what a purifier can do with water in much worse condition, why should I not continue using a superior product? Yeah, though potentially overkill, its going to cost more per use, but you only have your health, and those of your loved ones. Why compromise when you know youre safe to drink away, virtually anywhere, in good health? You pay for what you get. If this product is within your means, and meets your wants and needs, then pull the trigger and purchase it. You will not be disappointed in that Grayl.
