This was not what I was looking for, its is tiny, from the picture in the advertisement I was expecting a adult sized replica. Gave to thrift store for Halloween.

I gave this item five stars based on its workmanship and attention to detail. It wasnt really what i was looking for, but it is partially my fault for not reading the description completely. This is a very skull looking skull. Ive seen many that dont have proper cheek-bone indentures, that are kind of bulgy, or are otherwise not very skull-like. The first thing to be aware of is the size: its dimensions are there, but I totally missed them. This skull is about the size of a toddlers skull. Some people might find that kind of creepy. The other thing to know is that the insides of the eye sockets and - especially - the base are painted to give the effect of viscera. If you were looking for a skull totally devoid of flesh then this may not be right for you. If youre looking for an excellent Halloween prop, this skull is awesome and well worth the money.

WARNING In the product description this skull head is listed as 6.5 high, which would make this skull head a large skull, its not, its 4.5 high, this makes it a SMALL SKULL. Having said that, its a nice well made and heavy enough skull for all year round skull decor display. The seller I bought it from was sunshine megastore and they didnt ship out for 12 days so it took 17 days to receive, also the seller had it in a box to big for the skull and it was in a plastic ziplock kind of bag with no padding or bubble wrap at all in the box and the box ( shipped through ups ) was all busted up and partly open when it arrived, its a miracle it arrived ok and not all broken up.

Covered the skull with prosciutto and turned out great...great on its own a well!

To be completely fair, the dimensions are as described. I docked this to a 3 star review as one of the pictures depicting the item on a desk makes the item appear to be larger than it is. While subjective, it is clear that this photo was taken for the purpose of exaggerating the size. For those of us without a measuring tape at the desk when ordering who depend on the pictures, it is clear this item is being shown in a way to increase its size. The reason I do not give this 1 star is that the written dimensions are technically accurate.

I have picked up several of these over the months to fashion into some Halloween projects. The skulls are definitely smaller than a full-sized adult type skull. One reviewer likened to child sized... while mildly disturbing, I would have to agree. The material is a hard resin that will not survive dropping or mishandling. Dropping it would undoubtedly break it into a bunch of pieces. But, it can be drilled, filed, or sawed if you are careful. The interior of the cranium is hollow allowing you to install lights or wiring if you are willing to cut the holes since no holes exist to the inside of the skull. Those you would have to make on your own if you were inclined. So for the right price its a pretty good skull with decent coloring and exterior molding that should work for most people straight up out of the box. Plus it does lend itself to modifications should you wish to go that route too.

In search of some replacement skulls for my Halloween decorations, I decided to upscale and pay a little more for some good quality items. This one was disappointing. Shame on me, but I didnt check the dimensions that well. I just assumed that a $16 skull was going to be life size. This one is maybe half size. It seems sturdy and well made and painted, but I cant use it. Good for someone NOT looking for life size, but Im not sure you should pay $16 for it.
