This product does exactly what it is supposed to do. Assembly was a snap but installation was a little tricky. We ended up running this under the mattress support because you could feel it if you ran it over the support as instructed. It’s easy to flip it down for bedtime snuggles and flip it back up once little one is asleep.

has held up well to toddler antics. Love that this lets us keep using our crib much longer.

Product was pretty straightforward to install and works very well. We have had it in my daughters room since February 2022, it is currently December and the cover on the guard ripped and is no longer working. I contacted the company via their information on the cover and received a very quick response where they verified some info and said they would be shipping a replacement ASAP. I am very impressed with how quick the service was and how friendly they were.

We bought our sons crib on clearance when he was born, and unfortunately, I couldn’t find the toddler bed rail to go with it. I thought we would just transition my son straight to a regular bed but he freaked out. I read that some kids like the security of the rails and need that for the transition. This hiccapop made the perfect conversion. It was fairly easy to put together, I had to refer to the photos a lot to figure out what it was trying to tell me. Installing it on the crib was cumbersome, but that’s not a design flaw. Getting adult hands through crib rails to put a screw through a hole isn’t the easiest, but I understand it needed to be done this way for sturdiness. It definitely helps to be able to get in behind the crib and have someone else to lift it up slightly, but I managed to do it by myself. I haven’t figured out how to let the railing down yet, it says lift up to release, but I can’t seem to get it to work. This doesn’t bother me though, I don’t really need it. Overall, seems like a safe and sturdy way to transition your toddler to a big bed. I definitely recommend it.

This product is great and came at a much needed time that coincidentally coinsided with the time that my two year old daughter figured out she could climb out of her crib. And not gracefully, mind you, but like a sack of potatoes being flug off of a ship only to land face first on the dockside. Sure you can save the potatoes, but now they have snot on their face from the dock and all the crying. Installing it was relatively simple, although again, I would recommend doing it NOT while your precocious and high energy wee one is in the room with you. Then you’re taking the install to Survivor-challenge level of difficulty as your tiny tot uses your back like a spring board, flinging themselves onto your legs with the care free nature that only someone with no fear of physical injury care truly muster and maintain. She also really wanted to get to the shiney nuts and bolts in my hands as I frantically worked to screw things into place against a timer of her temprament and the dwindling shot clock counting down to her nap time. In short, the product works but my approach and timing was ill timed and not adviseable.

My daughter helped me set it up. It was really easy to put together, and very simple to attach to the crib. I was worried about feeling the bar that is attached to the crib to hold in place, but you dont actually feel it. It fits perfectly in the graco 4 in 1 crib.

We had a couple of surprises installing the safety rail. First, one of the rods was affixed to the hinge backwards, so that the hole in the rod would not match up with the coupling on the other rod. My husband had to drill a hole in the metal rod to make it work (and it took three tries to get it large enough). Im sure it was just a mistake in the manufacturing that doesnt apply to all of the products, but it was pretty annoying to have to drill a hole. If you run into that problem, dont spend a long time trying to reposition the rods like we did - its not you! - just drill the hole and it will work fine. Second, our crib has three mattress levels. We were using the lowest setting, but we could not secure the anchors while the crib was on the lowest setting. There simply wasnt enough room between spring on the mattress and the crib frame for the anchor to fit. We could have installed a board and drilled holes in the board, but (because of the first problem), my husband was tired of drilling when no tools were supposed to be required, so we just raised the mattress to the middle level. I will say that having the mattress on the middle level allows for the guard rail to fold down nicely along the bed. If the mattress were on the lowest level, it wouldnt go flat along the bed because the floor would get in the way. Since we had to use the middle mattress setting, were also having to use a stool for my child to crawl into the bed. Given that, I seriously considered just putting the mattress on the lowest setting and doing away the guard rail altogether. But, after the time we invested just getting it set up, we decided to give it a try. Despite the surprises, the product has worked well. I have not experienced any of the issues the other reviewers mention about the lowering the rail. It takes two hands to do it, but otherwise, its pretty simple. Also, it is very sturdy, so I dont have to worry about it giving way and my child falling out. Also, we had a crib-sized piece of plywood that we used with our AngelCare monitor. We placed this over the support bars for the guard rail and that has kept the support bars from digging into the mattress without compromising stability. All in all, I think its going to be a good transition piece for us, but if I had to do it over again, I may have considered additional options that could be installed with the mattress on the lowest setting and that would not require tools.

This product was great until the seam along the bottom of the mesh ripped. It was gradual at first and occurred over the course of about a month, after about 4 months of being in use on a toddler bed. Contacted the seller via Amazon and was able to obtain a replacement mesh at no cost. Also later found the tag on the mesh itself referencing their website and lifetime replacement!

We mistakingly did not buy the conversion pieces for his convertible crib and now they no longer manufacturer them. We couldn’t find the toddler rail for his bed and he started climbing out of his crib. We accidentally bought a toddler bed rail and it didn’t fit only to realize it’s for a larger bed not crib. We bought this and it was incredibly easy to install and pretty sturdy considering. We haven’t had any issues with our son falling or getting stuck in between it and the mattress. It’s easy to clean. Our son also has room to climb out of his bed on each side but will not fall during the night. It’s brilliant. My only advice is to use the Velcro straps it comes with because without it it’s not very sturdy. The minute we used them it was a total game changer. You can also use zip ties to secure the bars to the frame if you want extra security. I’d recommend this product for anyone wanting to help their toddler transition from crib to bed. It’s worked for us!
