> 3 dayConsidering the part to turn our crib into a toddler bed was $130 this is a good compromise. I would install under the springs as many others have said. I dont love that my sons mattress is higher up off the ground, but its not the end of the world. It is a little flimsy but it should keep him from falling out which is all that really matters. Its not a forever situation so I think this product is worth buying for the price.

> 3 dayIm so glad I got this, I had a rolled up blanket under my daughters sheet to prevent her from falling and this not only prevents from falling but also allows better airflow so shes not boiling anymore. Her bed is a convertible so I had to move her mattress to the highest level in order to collapse the thing flat so shes got a princess and the pea bed now, and it also is small enough so she can get out of bed without a problem. I gave it a 4 on sturdiness because its plastic not metal, though it holds I dont expect plastic to hold as well as metal but its lightweight and easy to work with.

> 3 dayThis product was great until the seam along the bottom of the mesh ripped. It was gradual at first and occurred over the course of about a month, after about 4 months of being in use on a toddler bed. Contacted the seller via Amazon and was able to obtain a replacement mesh at no cost. Also later found the tag on the mesh itself referencing their website and lifetime replacement!

Greater than one weekWe ordered the bed rail guard from this company. We received a box with many missing parts to it. The box seemed unopened/tampered with and all the items (that were there) were very carefully packaged. We reached out to the company. They apologized and refunded our money. No need to return the few parts we did receive. Soon after we got a message that they had sent us a gift as part of the apology. We did not expect it to be their foam bed bumper! So we are reviewing their product based on this gift and not what we ordered. At first we were sure they were not going to work. They seemed to much like a pillow that would be easy to just roll over and fall as usual. Surprisingly this has not been the case. They are soft and they are comfortable enough to not interfere with sleep when turning into them but they do keep the body within the bed. They are not easily jumped over in the middle of the night. No more picking up the child from the middle of the floor in the middle of the night! They do have a slight smell to them upon opening the box but airing them out for a day did the trick. No more boxed up smell. The liner makes it easy to insert under the mattress and to clean when accidents happen by simply removing it and throwing it in the wash. The little grips at the bottom are helpful in keeping them in place. Over all we were gifted a great product and are happy to review it.

> 3 dayWhen the day comes that your toddler starts scaling their crib rails and you have to remove a side rail, you probably will want to add a low rail to avoid having your toddler roll out of the crib. No one is happy when a toddler rolls out of their bed in the middle of the night. Adding a side rail that is sturdy and stays in place is tricky if you have a steel spring frame that supports the mattress. Some add-on rails use nylon straps to hold the rail in place. That might work on a larger bed with a heavy mattress and a box spring. It does not work with a light crib mattress on a steel frame. The hiccapop rail includes two steel bars that go all the way across the steel spring frame and clamp to the far side. Velcro straps and provided to secure the near side. This provides a very sturdy support for the rail. As a mechanical engineer, I appreciate things that are structurally sound like the hiccapop Convertible Crib Bed Rail for Toddlers.

> 3 dayWe had a couple of surprises installing the safety rail. First, one of the rods was affixed to the hinge backwards, so that the hole in the rod would not match up with the coupling on the other rod. My husband had to drill a hole in the metal rod to make it work (and it took three tries to get it large enough). Im sure it was just a mistake in the manufacturing that doesnt apply to all of the products, but it was pretty annoying to have to drill a hole. If you run into that problem, dont spend a long time trying to reposition the rods like we did - its not you! - just drill the hole and it will work fine. Second, our crib has three mattress levels. We were using the lowest setting, but we could not secure the anchors while the crib was on the lowest setting. There simply wasnt enough room between spring on the mattress and the crib frame for the anchor to fit. We could have installed a board and drilled holes in the board, but (because of the first problem), my husband was tired of drilling when no tools were supposed to be required, so we just raised the mattress to the middle level. I will say that having the mattress on the middle level allows for the guard rail to fold down nicely along the bed. If the mattress were on the lowest level, it wouldnt go flat along the bed because the floor would get in the way. Since we had to use the middle mattress setting, were also having to use a stool for my child to crawl into the bed. Given that, I seriously considered just putting the mattress on the lowest setting and doing away the guard rail altogether. But, after the time we invested just getting it set up, we decided to give it a try. Despite the surprises, the product has worked well. I have not experienced any of the issues the other reviewers mention about the lowering the rail. It takes two hands to do it, but otherwise, its pretty simple. Also, it is very sturdy, so I dont have to worry about it giving way and my child falling out. Also, we had a crib-sized piece of plywood that we used with our AngelCare monitor. We placed this over the support bars for the guard rail and that has kept the support bars from digging into the mattress without compromising stability. All in all, I think its going to be a good transition piece for us, but if I had to do it over again, I may have considered additional options that could be installed with the mattress on the lowest setting and that would not require tools.
