Hitachi 6684938 THB-260PFRB24E Starter Assembly

Ordered Jun 14th 2018. Installed July 1st 2018. Went out today July 21st 2018 and cut the grass before the rain came in. Grabbed the blower to blow off the driveway and went to pull the starter rope today and broke off in my hand..... I cannot believe this item lasted 3 pulls. I can see that the rope is of lesser quality than the original Hitachi but now way did i expect to fail 35 days and 3 uses in.... I have other pull start power tools that have lasted well over 6 years without any pull rope issues... :(

So far so good. Works great. Easy installation. This doesn’t have the original label on the housing so I used a heat gun and removed the label from the old housing and stuck it on the new one.

I have a gas blower Hitachi RB24EAP. After about 4 years I broke the pull cord. I spent an entire day trying to pack the starter spring back into place after replacing the rope. I watched a YouTube video where the guy made it look easy. But it wasnt easy. I had two people working on it and we still couldnt get the spring to stay in place. I was beginning to think that I was going to have to buy a new blower because of a broken rope which seems silly. I like this blower a lot and I wanted to keep using it. I found this starter and although it cost too much for what it is, in my opinion, it bolted on with four bolts fit perfectly and started my blower right away. Im back in business.

AVOID THIS PRODUCT. Many positive reviews dont account for performance over time. Anyone writing an early review will be happy because it bolts on easily and will start right up...until it doesnt start because the cord breaks and the handle comes off in your hand. For me this products life was less than 2 months, which is unacceptable. Pros: The part bolts right on in place of the old one. Cons: The cord felt cheap from the start, and only last for maybe 10 starts (June 1-July 24). The blower I have is from 2015, and the stock cord lasted until May of this year.

This was delivered on time and took under 10min and a phillips screwdriver to install.

Tough time getting the lower tank screw out of the housing, but the part was a quick and easy swap. Works great. Wish the item description itself was a little more clear that this part fit the RB24AEP models. Felt like I had to do some cross checking there to verify that they might could clear up faster in the item copy.
