Hitachi 6684938 THB-260PFRB24E Starter Assembly

I purchased this to fix my gas leaf blower as the roper snapped on it. I spent hours trying to recoil the spring. Then I looked here and it was an inexpensive quick fix. Very happy and hope it lasts for a couple years

Ordered Jun 14th 2018. Installed July 1st 2018. Went out today July 21st 2018 and cut the grass before the rain came in. Grabbed the blower to blow off the driveway and went to pull the starter rope today and broke off in my hand..... I cannot believe this item lasted 3 pulls. I can see that the rope is of lesser quality than the original Hitachi but now way did i expect to fail 35 days and 3 uses in.... I have other pull start power tools that have lasted well over 6 years without any pull rope issues... :(

Perfect fit for my Hitachi leaf blower (Model RB 24EAP) made in 2016. It is a simple replacement. As another review mentioned, I can confirm that the third letter in the serial number advises the year it was made. Example-- Serial number P364756.... 6=manufacturing year of 2016.

So far so good. Works great. Easy installation. This doesn’t have the original label on the housing so I used a heat gun and removed the label from the old housing and stuck it on the new one.

I can add my confirmation to this: it is a perfect fit for my Hitachi RB 24EAP leaf blower. The coiled spring inside my existing unit was bent beyond easy repair, and after multiple hours of still trying to fix it without success, I caved and bought this. Fortunately, it took me all of 2 minutes to screw in place, and I was back up and running! I wish it wasnt nearly $30 to repair a $100 leaf blower, but I suppose I could consider it saved me $70 on purchasing a new one.

Poor rope quality. It screws on fine, but the rope broke after a few uses. Gonna buy a better one now! ☹️

This is my fourth pull start assembly for that stupid Hitachi leaf blower. Pay attention to the direction you pull the cord or it will wear and snap against the black plastic housing. If this one fails there will be no 5th purchase, Ill leave the whole thing at the curb.

The pull start string broke on my Hitachi blower. I was amazed to find this part so easily on Amazon. I was up and running again in just two days.
