My kittens leg became paralyzed from a thromboid embolism and needed to be kept warm at all times...a heating pad worked great but she was still mobile and my brother suggested buying baby socks and placing the hand warmers in the sock (place sock on leg...then hand warmer...then the other sock)...this worked great and gave me the confidence that her leg was kept safe...I hope this helps others that may come across this issue with their pets...
