Fantastic entry level monitor for 1440p gaming. Bought from a review from @PCBuilderChannel on YouTube.

I gave this 5 stars because of the speed of delivery, especially during Christmas week. He had it 4 days earlier than expected. I cant attest to the quality or anything else because I havent used it. Ive asked him how it works and if hes happy and he smiled and said yes and anyone with a teen knows thats as good as it gets. Hes been gaming for 4 years and has a YouTube channel so Im assuming that he knows what hes talking about.

The Title says this is the 2021 model. But mine was produced in November 2022. They used this in the title to attempt to entice you with the chance of receiving an lim101 panel. You wont. It is a trick. I received an lim131 panel. For the price ($209) it is admittedly fine. But they know what they are doing and it is pretty rude.

I am not particularly impressed by the colors and it is not a very bright monitor. The picture does look good (I am used to just a 1080p monitor and the difference is noticeable) but with monitors you get what you pay for. Overall it is a nice size and clear image but if you are looking for something “vibrant” and “bright” you may need to look at monitors at least in the $300+ range.

This should be used for a computer. I bought this for my ps5 but this has a 2.0 HDMI port, so I cant use VRR.

I bought this monitor for a gaming set up I recently built. I was a bit worried since I got it under 200 dollars but I couldn’t be happier. Came in with zero issues and after month of use I’m happy. Video quality is great, and the monitor is responsive. Size was perfect for me even though I was worried it might be a bit big. For reference I’m coming from a 4K 16 in laptop that had an i-9 and some built in graphics. Design is simple and appealing to me, and the bezels are almost nonexistent. The one thing I could nitpick about would be daytime brightness. I have a huge window and get lots of sunlight bleeding in during the day. This would be the only time the brightness doesn’t seem to be enough. The fact it’s highly adjustable helps too! It’s still manageable for sure but something to keep in mind.

Ive received six of these so far – a mix of the LIM111 (1x), LIM101 (1x), and BIM111 (4x) revisions. Both LIM revisions appear identical in all aspects that I can see, while the BIM revisions have some serious quality differences. See attached photos for a comparison (LIM on left and BIM on right). The stock color difference is not as extreme as it looks, thats just distortion on camera due to the anti-glare coating, its only roughly half as bad. LIM111/LIM101 (LG): • No flickering • Good anti-glare coating and no visible graininess • Beautiful and vibrant color • Strong and accurate whites/grays • Great viewing angles • Moderate IPS glow BIM111 (BOE): • Flickers a lot (more on that below) • Excessive anti-glare coating that causes visible graininess on the screen • Weaker color vibrancy • Weaker whites/grays • Poor viewing angles • Minimal IPS glow For those who have a mix of BIM and LIM revisions, I recommend trying out custom RGB on both – (245, 255, 255) on LIM and (255, 255, 255) on BIM. Theres still a noticeable difference, you cant get them to match without drastically hurting color accuracy on LIM, but its a decent improvement. Do not install an ICC profile on the BIM revisions unless its specifically tuned for it. 3 of the 4 BOE panels that I received flicker, including replacements from different warehouses. The flickering is like a momentary 20-30% drop in brightness, and it happens in batches of 2-3 times over the course of several seconds, generally reoccurring every 5-30 minutes. I couldnt find any settings that helped, including reducing the refresh rate and disabling adaptive sync, nor swapping the cables with a LIM panel that didnt flicker. It seems like theres possibly a flicker lottery going on here too...

Got it from recent Amazon treasure truck deal. It had everything specs I wanted. IPS/ 1440P/ 165HZ(I was happy with 144hz so it was plus)/ Vesa/ Fast response time/ No crazy gaming monitor design which is perfect for work + gaming set up/ HDR/ Gsync (Not certified but it works)/ and above all crazy good price. I set it up right next to the AOC cq27g2 which I have been used about 1.5 year. It did not had dead pixel and there were bit of IPS light bleeding but not too crazy and was not impacting my gaming at all. No issues for QC. However It didnt really gave me better experience compare to AOC CQ27G2 which priced very similar to this HP X27Q. It had more like very similar color and clearness and gaming performance with AOCs VA panel. I hoped IPS gave be different feeling and experience than VA but I am not seeing much Upgrade. Also when I turn on HDR I also getting high pitch sound as other reviewers mentioned as Coil whine and HDR didnt make any difference watching movies/ videos. Look other if you really into HDR. For the price I am very very happy with HP X27Q. Recommend for entry level IPS gaming monitor.

This is a great monitor I have no complaints. Edit 5/29/23 Ive started noticing some flickering issue with certain games when I have free sync enabled and am getting more fps than the refresh rate. So for example its noticeable in some games menus where fps can just basically sky rocket into the hundreds easily if its not capped, there is some flickering. Most modern games have a fps cap when at the main menus but not all. I cant say its an issue for me but maybe something to consider if your looking into this monitor.

All play, every day. We"ve redefined high definition gaming with IPS technology, 165Hz, 1ms response, AMD FreeSync™ Premium, and more colors than ever before.
