HP Envy 110 e-All-in-One Printer (Brown)

> 3 dayIf the printer has not been used for a while it will drop the network connection. What I mean by a while is one or two days. The solution is to unplug the router for a few seconds then restart the router. The printer will then be on the network. I have ckd various blogs and this problem is pretty consistent. I would not recommend this printer.

> 3 dayPaper tray does not hold enough paper. It is for home use, not for a small home busines. It looks great so if you want a stylish looking printer then this is it. DO NOT buy the new model ENVY 120 because that has a known manufacturer defect with the scanner.

> 3 dayPicked one of these printers up because I wanted a printer in my family room, where I do most of my computer work. Most of what I looked at seemed to be a few metal parts and lots of cheap plastic. When I picked up the HP Envy printer, I immediately felt the difference. Heavy and solid construction. The looks of the printer are unlike any other I have seen. It looks more like a DVD player than a printer. It fits into my living area, while other printers looked like office equipment - not what I wanted in my family room. Unboxing the unit showed that the packaging was high quality and the printer had its own bag keeping it safe from scratches. Hookup consisted of plugging in the electric cable and turning the printer on. From there, the printer guided me through the setup, including telling me when to insert the ink cartridges and how to set up the wireless connection. The only thing I needed to have was my network security password, as I have a secured Wi-fi network. Connected to the network 1st time after I keyed in the password. Installing the software on my computer was quick and easy. No surprises, but HP does load their installation with a bunch of junk you probably dont want. Just deselect anything you dont want installed. Everything works fine. Usual good quality prints and scans. The printer found some firmware updates and asked me if I wanted them installed. I did and they went in without any problem. Same for an update to the computer software for the printer. This printer uses two ink cartridges - black and a color. I like this approach as the cartridge design has the print heads in the cartridge. Change inks and you get a new print head each time. I have used several other brands of ink jet printers that have permanent print heads as part of the printer. These always tend to clog for me, over time. With the HP cartridge design used here, I have never had bad prints, or clogged print heads on the other Photo printer I have from HP. Ive also used HP inkjets at work for years and they just print - day in and day out. Some find a benefit to having separate ink cartridges for each color. Ive had two printers with this arrangement and found that I was replacing the various colors at about the same time. The extra parts just amounted to extra things that could go wrong, and added cost. The HP Envy printer has some neat features like the touch screen and the retractable paper catcher. While neat features, they seem to be likely problem areas down the road (after the mfg warranty expires), so I bought an extended warranty on the printer - giving me 4 years of coverage. Hope this printer works long term as good as it looks out of the box. HP did a great design job, integrating an office device into a home environment.

> 3 dayI like this HP Envy 110 e-All-in-One Printer. Strange the heading as I write this says Brown, because its black. It has a nice, compact footprint for an all-in-one, that I find very attractive. I use a Mac, and havent had any problems on that front. The printing looks great, the scanning works great. At first, you wonder where the controls are to edit the scanning parameters, but it turns out there is a little application in the folder that gives you that. I had to call HP to ask though. I didnt see it in the documentation, though I could be wrong. There are a lot of parameters in general, that you can access using the printers touch screen. Honestly, I havent even experimented much with it, but I saw them. Im very satisfied with this purchase and Ive had it for a few months now. Adding on... I have had this printer for quite a while now. I am removing a couple of stars. One is for the crappy software interface on the Mac, and one is because HP does NOT like people using remanufactured ink cartridges and badger you with warnings, and by telling you it is empty when it is not, and sometimes by not working until you unplug and plug back in the printer. This has me pretty pissed off, if you havent guessed. So if you like using their exorbitantly priced ink, then you can add the two stars back on. It prints and scans just fine.

Greater than one weekI absolutely love this printer. It was so easy to set up to my wireless network. I must admit that I bought this printer over a less expensive printer only because I liked the styling. I am so glad that I did buy it. It is well worth the money. It is so sleek and looks great in my home office. Whenever you ask it to print, only then does the door open and the paper catcher slides out. Whenever you take your printed copy from the printer, it automatically closes and you are back to the sleek look of this printer. Photos come out beautifully. I cant say enough good things about this printer. I think I will buy my daughter and her family one too!

> 3 dayWhen we first got this printer, I loved it- it is sleek and shiny, and I loved that it fits right in with our other stereo components. I like the convenience of having our printer in the living room, since I do so much of my computer work on the couch right there, and it is nice to be able to print things from my iPhone as well. Over the past couple weeks my husband and I have had to use the printer for more than just printing a coupon here or a short document there, and we have been fighting with this printer CONSTANTLY. Here are the issues: -it jams CONSTANTLY -it is rather difficult to unjam, because it does not come apart very easily -It chews up the bottom of the pages of paper even when it isnt jamming -it spits the papers out onto the floor, not onto the completed document arm as it is supposed to -it runs rather slow -it doesnt like to operate on any setting other than default. Not even fast draft, black and white -it will jam on every single document set to print double-sided -it randomly stops in the middle of printing to allow ink to dry. Printers have been around for decades and havent needed to do that, so why now? -it occasionally starts printing half-way down the page, so it cuts off the bottom 1/3 to 1/2 of the page of text. Ive had printers in the past that will act up a bit when there starts to be too little paper in the paper tray. Im wondering if the small paper tray (80 sheets max) is why this printer is ALWAYS having issues. I seriously cant even print a 6 page double sided document (3 double sided pages) without it jamming. The concept and the look of this product are great, but quite honestly, the quality and reliability of this printer is horrible!!! If youre looking for a printer that will print just the occasional coupon before you head out the door, this will probably do the job. But if you need a real printer that actually works every time of every day on every document it is supposed to work on, look elsewhere!

> 3 dayFirst off a normal fair price is around 125.00. Thats what I paid for it right here on Amazon a few years ago. Ive had no issues with this HP printer. Its very convenient to send something from my phone to the printer. I dont have to stop what Im doing, get up and go do it manually or through my computer. Now I can even ask Alexa to print something out for me. Im very happy with this hp printer. I even had the Envy model before this for several years before I got this new one. The old one got damaged in a water leak in our home. Otherwise I would it to still be working today.

Greater than one weekThis printer was immediately recognized once I set it up on our WiFi network. A number of people have stated that the printer connection would get lost. Randomly this was happening with our iPad 2, one day it worked great and the next the printer would not show up. When you have a network you can type in a devices IP address (i.e.. 192.168.0.8) into your internet browsers URL field and manage it from there. I bookmark all my devices this way for quick access to them from my Macs. I noticed the Envy was loosing its IP address and it kept changing. The only was to get it to appear again was to restart the printer and hard reboot the iPad. After the 3 time in a couple of months I decided to solve this problem. I went ahead and assigned the Envy a static IP address and the problem has not returned. It works flawlessly now from our iPad 2, (iOS 5.1) two iPhone 4 (iOS 5.1), MacBook (10.7.4) and G4 tower (10.5.8). We have a CenturyLink DSL modem and Apple Airport Extreme. The printer prints VERY fast in b&w draft mode, 2-sided and the quality in this mode is surprisingly great!
