> 3 dayI am a research assistant and a graduate student and was used to owning a high speed (b/w only) laser printer. My laser printer works fine but is not compatible with my lap top or other computers in my home so I needed one that would fulfill other requirements. I was hesitant about choosing an ink jet but on a grad. student/research asst. budget, this offered a lot of features I was looking for and allowed me to not only remain within budget but save some money. Set up was simple. Just plug it in and follow the on screen directions, enter the accompanying cd into your cd/dvd rom drive and follow those directions. In my case, my computer found the printer right away. There was one time that I became distracted by a pop up to register my printer right then to receive a free gift and when I did that, I somehow left my original set up screen but it was no problem because all I had to do was click on my printer icon on my computer to pull up the set up screen and resume where Id left off (which is important because the final step will print out your code to be used with efax). Setting up efax was also simple from their website, you just choose an email address, enter your printer code and can adjust privacy settings. I have not used the efax yet and I doubt I will have much use for it but it is nice for just in case. I only test printed a picture onto paper right after set up and the colors were great but the ink did bleed a bit. Of course, I would imagine using photo paper for the HP printer would solve that problem and I do not print pictures often. Printing articles was a breeze though output is much slower than my old laser printer but the quality is also better. The colors (even black and white) are richer and more formal looking than articles and papers I print with my old laser. The best feature is that I dont have to have the printer right by my computer because of wifi and while I do have to plug the printer into a wall socket, it can be anywhere in the house. People have commented on its looks...that wasnt a huge concern to me, but it is pretty. I have the brown one and it is dar k brown with bronze enlay around the face. It looks like a huge dvd player or something. Also, it is very heavy but also sturdy. I am concerned about the little arm that extends out into thin air when printing that if I print something over 12 pages or so, papers will go flying of the arm onto the floor. So far that hasnt happened. :) I also plan to be careful because if the little arm breaks, that will be a big pain. For the money that I spent on this, I think I got a really great deal overall. This printer has a lot more features than I was originally looking for and the possibilities are endless. I will update this review the more I use it and the more features I try out. I do not regret purchasing this product and I am looking forward to using it more.

> 3 dayI bought this for my RV. Easy to print with iphone and ipads using HP the free eprint app. No extra wires is just the trick for my RV. I keep my printer at home till we travel and while there I can attach most anything to my printer email address and print it from anywhere. To set this up with an email address you must follow the on screen prompts on the printer itself and then go to the HP website to register and create your personalized eprint email address. Works well.

> 3 dayThe touch screen that is supposed to be used to set up the printer did not work. We spent over an hour with HP helpline (from India). Amazon agreed to take the printer back for credit but charged 20% re-stocking plus shipping costs. We lost $50 and decided to stop buying stuff from Amazon.

> 3 dayEasy set up and even easier to use. I can print from my Mac, iPhone, and iPad. And my husbands Dell. I really like that it has its own email address. When you tell someone to email you at that address it comes across your printer. I can email it anywhere in the world and it will print.

> 3 dayI had an Epson printer before this that printed better quality photos, but it ate through ink like crazy and the print quality worsened dramatically over time. I have owned this machine for about a year. I dont think it would print high enough quality photos from it that you would frame them and hang them, but how often do you really do that? Our family, not too often. What this printer does do however is, so far, print pretty reliably regular household printing. It has a number of pretty good features: Its quiet; you can print from your iPhone and iPad (nice); its simple as pie to set up on your home wifi; as an HP, pretty sure everything out there has a driver for it; and, its easy enough to scan. Over all, its a very solid printer. Further, I have the brown color and its pretty good looking. Why is it all of our electronics gray and black anyhow? The brown looks pretty good in the home office. I also dont think the ink bill is too bad, an opinion I have not always had of HP. Just buy the XL size and the genuine ink. I bought the refurbished ones to try to save money, the printer recognized it, complained on refused to print with them- seriously! Anyhow, that was a waste, but I like the machine enough to forgive it. (HP Envy 100 e All-in-One Printer)
