Mine were scratched up and didnt have the film to prevent it that others come with, and beyond that, these are about 30% overpriced compared to a number of other options, and offer fewer features. you get no wiring to plug them into your computer, and even the power cable is cheaper and angled sideways, resulting it unnecessary strain, even if its less obstructive to other plugs than others would be. as the cherry on top, theres no mounting bracket, so if you get these, youll also need one of those. its a standard camera screw, I believe, but mine is still printing out (thank the fact that patents end for 3D printers, am I right?) I think its supposed to be laser based, so I hope these scratches dont affect its accuracy. UPDATE: one was DOA. I suggest you look at a different one.

Cable is shorter and arrives bent up, so it doesnt flow down the wall very well. No mount kit, or stand. You pay $50 more, just to get less. I guess if you absolutely cant wait (like me) then get this. Youll prolly be disappointed though.

Well, you get a tracker... Thats it, no base stand nor the original charge cable. Just a short charge cable. Feeling kind of ripped off with the base stand not being included.

Let me start this by saying I don’t know if this is the products fault, Amazon’s fault, or both. I bought two to begin with earlier this year as an upgrade from the 1.0 models. Let’s call them #1 and #2. They have worked perfectly fine since buying them. Now after a few months I have expanded my play space and decided to buy two more stations. They arrived and #3 worked perfectly but #4 had a blinking red light from the beginning. Hardware malfunction with no fix. Had to get a replacement. Once that arrives, I plug it in the have the same issue. A third base station and I finally have a working one. Then after about a week of playing with all four, #3 which seemed to be working fine, starts to show a blinking red light with no one touching or moving it. I have a replacement for #3 on the way as of writing this. Hopefully this one works when it gets here and stays working.

Pros: These are identical to base stations i got from valve. Works like a charm. However, I have few cons that are making me consider if I should return these and wait until valve starts reselling. Cons: I bought two, and both are significantly louder than base stations that came with valve index. Very annoying tinnitus hum. No mounts! ?? This costed $50 more.. cmon man. Lastly, the wire is shorter than valve index stations. I needs to be at least 2-3 feet longer. Edit: Noise is not much louder than the valve base station.. it was more to the fact that any time you add another base station, frequency goes up and the sound gets louder. I have four, which make it really loud.

Its amazing the cable I received with it was around 16feet long it just doesnt come with a mounting kit so I would get one as well again overpriced but worth it as long as you can afford it!

I bought this 2 years ago but never really opened until April. after using it for a bit the light start blinking red Iv tried everything to fix it even contacting valve I was told I was out of luck. this is the 3rd one to fail over the 2 years (2 valve 1 htc). Sadly cant return it due to out of warranty now but just wanted to give people a heads up.

These are identical to the ones sold by Valve (it even says Valve on the back still), but these are $50 more expensive and comes with a shorter, bulkier, and sideways oriented power supply compared to the ones sold on Steam by Valve. Not only that, but there is no wall mount included either. They charge you more for far inferior hardware or lack thereof and this has always been HTC’s MO. I was ok with paying $50 more because I needed the extra Base Station and I was already aware of the shorter power adapter, but I expected at least a wall mount in the box! If Steam wasn’t currently sold out of Base Stations I wouldn’t have even considered this. I will be keeping an eye on Steam’s stock and returning this if I can get my hands on a Valve Base Station. Do not buy this if you’re not in a rush for another Base Station. Period.

Now with wide-area tracking, base station 2.0 powers the presence and immersion of room-scale, virtual reality by helping the Vive Pro or Vive Pro eye headsets and Controllers track their exact locations. Features wireless syncing.
