After using just 3-4 drops at each tank full up, I haven’t gotten any film build up since. The value is awesome too since the drops coming out of the bottle are small. So a full bottle should last a while (the manufacturer states 100+ days).

It will not prevent your wick filters from getting funky, youll still have to replace those. Its not a replacement for cleaning the humidifier occasionally, but youll have to do it less often.
