Greater than one weekThese are indeed heavy-duty steel, with a black powder coating. Im using these for several projects, the first being to mount a post on which to install part of my home weather station (rain gauge and thermometer/hygrometer). For this lightweight application, the included hardware is fine. For an installation where safety is important like a railing, I might be inclined to upgrade the screws to something longer/thicker, but your mileage may vary. The sides of the holder have an attractive shape at the top if you are looking for something that looks less industrial than some of the others on the market.

> 3 dayThey look really nice & have a decent weight to them. They aren’t all exactly the same. We are in construction phase & have all the lumber we need. I had to try different ones on different 4x4’s, even had to try each end to get them to fit. Kind of a pain. Not all of them fit on the 4x4’s we have. Will have to try to hammer them into place.

Greater than one weekThese Insaga post base brackets are an incredible value! If you stop by your local big box store, you’ll find similar products where just one cost almost as much as this package of four. The quality is top notch... heavy duty... quality welds... nice black powder coat finish. Instead of the supplied screws, I used 2-1/2” Timberlok fasteners to attach the posts to the bases. The included screws would have probably done an acceptable job, but I am a “heavy-duty” type of guy. I doubt you can find post base brackets any better than these.

> 3 dayThese are very nicely built. The welds look good and the powder coat looks even better. They are even the correct size for dimensional lumber. A dry treated 4x4 fits loosely which is a good thing. Most treated 4x4s are wet when you get them so they will be bigger and mostly likely be a tight fit. Similar products can cost as much for one post base as a 4 pack of these. If you are looking for a good surface post mount these are going to be hard to beat.

> 3 dayBuild Quality The 4x4 mounts are well made and have no defects. The paint covers the entire mount. The steel is thick, straight and strong. This meets my expectations and is a very strudy support for a 4x4 post. Installation These post mounts can be mounted to concrete using threaded rods easily. Once mounted 4x4 can be added and secured using securing screws using the provided holes. Use: There is a slight(appropriate) amount of space to insert a 4x4 with no need for a shim. Once secured and framed out they are very sturdy. Final thoughts: these are excellent 4x4 mounts that are thick , durable, precision made and they look great. I recommend them!

> 3 dayOver the years, I’ve seen some good quality post base brackets and I’ve seen some cheaply made ones. These Insaga brackets are some of the best I’ve come across... attractive... nice finish... no burrs or rough edges... very heavy duty. This set of four is fairly priced.

Greater than one weekThese are hefty, solid post bases (caps?). I am planning to build a simple, tiny house in my woodland and these with be quite useful.thickness of the metal as well as the clean and well-spaced bolt holes will make these very durable for use Im sure.

10-06-2025These post bases are very cleanly made (no over-welding) the base itself is thicker than the sides and should hold up very well with proper installation. Well be using ours to set up a patio sail or two with some antique string lights thrown in for ambiance. While screws were provided, I will likely be opting for some slightly larger ones with a bit deeper bite (as I tend prefer a little overkill when it comes to projects like this... go big or go home... right?). These bases will give the project a nice, finished look
