> 3 dayThis KVM works well. Its simple and easy to set up. To address some of the other reviews on this product, Ive had no issues waking up my PCs out of standby and it hasnt yet locked up on me. Nor have I found any issues with regards to video. Note that there is no audio support and no switching supported via key presses (you have to press the button on the unit itself). That said, its a cheap, reliable product that does its job well. One caution though... take note that this product uses only 1 USB plug for each computer that its hooked up with. Thus, it serves as a type of 2-port hub. This is very convenient in one sense, as it doesnt hog up your available USB ports. You just have to be sure that the port has enough power for the switch (which does light up when your computer is on), your keyboard, and the mouse. I have a Logitech Illuminated Keyboard and an iGesture Touchpad that I used with this device and I had a lot of issues initially with the Touchpad not being recognized or only working for a brief interval. What I discovered was that the power provided by my PCs USB port was not enough for both devices. If I disabled the lighting on my keyboard, both devices worked great... once I turn up the lighting, the touchpad became erratic and eventually stopped working. I was able to resolve the issue by piping the USB plug through a powered hub (thus ensuring there was maximum power going through the single plug) and the problem went away. The point being, that while this device is convenient b/c of it only requires 1 USB plug and no external power, just take note that this might not work directly if you have some sophisticated equipment. IOGear also has a similar looking KVM product with a remote switch that I recently purchased as well (see

> 3 dayWhile transitioning people from old to new computers, Im deploying these by the handful lately so people can still have access to their old system for a while, and still give them their new system to get started on. Sure I do the bulk of the work copying user profiles and such, but there are just those couple of old things that still have the old one alive for while longer . . .

> 3 dayWorks exactly as described. I wish I could remove the VGA cables that Im not using (since I use DVI), but I have no regrets. Good product. UPDATE: Does not work in Windows 10; heavy lag makes it unusable

Greater than one weekWhen I tried to connect a bluetooth mouse thru an old KVM switch on 2 desktop windows 10 computers, I found that it often dropped connection. Figuring it was old and not technically able to handle bluetooth, Ipurchased this IOGear KVM. Still had the same problem. When I checked the IOGear knowledge base it indicated that only IOGear bluetooth adapters could be assured of working with the IOGear KVM. Turns out that is false. I purchased a new IOGear bluetooth adapter into the KVM and it to drops the connection frequently. I have to switch the KVM from one computer and back to get it to reconnect. I bought both a new KVM and new bluetooth adapter to get this to work. The new setup doesnt work any better than the old one. :(

> 3 dayIll be honest, I actually havent used it (the GCS42U)yet, but I called IOGEAR tech support because I was having trouble with the I did buy (GCS32U). It turns out the GCS32U doesnt work well with a wireless Keyboard and Mouse that uses a single USB connection. They state that this (GCS42U) does. Hope this helps someone to not go through the pain I did...

> 3 dayI have had the 2-port compact USB KVM swtich for about a month and it works great between the two computers I manage at work. Now Im able to control both computers with just a keyboard, mouse and monitor.

> 3 dayWorks great and at a reasonable price. There is one big issue though. It would be great if the switch button could be somehow further away from all the cables. By this I mean if you want to but this somewhere where you can easily make the switch, there will be unsightly cables everywhere. If you dont want that you have to hide the switch, which makes it a chore to access.

> 3 dayThis device allowed me to seamlessly integrate a work issued computer into my home computer setup. I was able to share my keyboard, monitor, and mouse between both computers. Switching between computer systems is as easy as pressing one button. You can switch between computers rapidly. The construction of the device is quite good. Cables are sturdy and thick. My only wish is that it had a DVI port instead of a VGA port so I could take advantage of the digital input on my monitor on both computers...

> 3 dayUsing so I can share a keyboard and mouse between an iMac and a Win 10 machine. When I first set it up the iMac was running High Sierra. Everything worked fine. Then I installed Mojave and the mouse and keyboard would not work when switching back from Win 10. Tech support claims the switch is Mojave compatible. I read about others having the same issue and one suggestion was to put a USB hub between the iMac and the switch. That worked. No problems since. If not for this issue I would have rated it 5 stars.
