This is a must have if you want to play a wii on a modern TV. It works great and keeps the cords simple by making the wii port an HDMI port. It also came with the HDMI cord.

Received the package yesterday and installed it today. Was very easy to install as it was pretty much plug and play. Audio and video transfer with no issues. I was first worried that I was going to need to install the audio plug to a headset or stereo but was not needed. My son is happy so Im happy. Now this freed up the RCA ports for his other plug and play games.

Works perfect, took me a whole minute to connect it. Now I can run my wii on a TV without component connection. The HDMI is a much cleaner install. I played it with the old component connection and this one I I can’t see any difference between them, the audio and Video is the same. This is a real bargain for the price.

This adapter serves the purpose - it connects the Nintendo Wii to a flat screen TV with only HDMI ports. The original Wii does not have any HDMI connections, so it is not possible to connect it to many newer TVs. However, the video lag is significant. On my TV, the picture moves about a quarter-second after the Wii remote. I found this very distracting, making many games unplayable.

When I ordered this device, I was very hopeful that it would work because I have a Wii game console that my grandkids would like to use but I had no way of connecting the game console to my new TV. My Wii video connection to the TV requires RGB connections but my new TV does not have RGB ports. I was NOT disappointed with the device. It connected just fine to the TV/Wii and now we can use the game console with the grandkids and giving new life to the Wii games that were just collecting dust and marked for the landfill.

The IQIKU HDMI Adapter for Wii helps fulfill an important need for people with TVs/monitors without composite or component inputs. This is especially helpful for people with 4K monitors since many only have HDMI inputs. Colors are vibrant and the picture is relatively sharp, though not as sharp as most component-to-HDMI adapters (though those can run significantly higher, with some solutions up in the hundreds). I havent noticed any tearing or excessive artifacting in the 4-5 games I have played through the adapter so far. Audio through the HDMI is clean and sounds great on my Vizio soundbar. It does come with one major caveat, however. Unlike a component connection, which can output in widescreen, the IQIKU HDMI Adapter can only output in 4:3, so you need to be okay with pillarboxing on the left and right of the screen. For me, its a fair trade to be able to play these great games again, but I realize it may be a less acceptable option for others. If that should be the case for you, you are probably best looking for a used Wii-U since it is backward compatible with Wii games and can output natively in HDMI with a very clean sharp 16:9 image. For the rest of this, this is an affordable compromise.

I wanted to like this adapter, and its got a lot going for it, but ultimately its not a great solution. The packaging is what youd expect (cheap box with questionable English, individually wrapped items), and the adapter is dead simple to use: its got the Wii connector on one end, and the other has a female HDMI and a female 3.5mm jack (incase youre outputting your audio to a stereo, instead of via the HDMI). Youll need to flip the Wii to widescreen and 480P (its a console from 2012 and doesnt support anything higher), but after that youre good to go. Also bonus, it comes with an HDMI cable, which is a nice surprise! The catch is, the video quality is poor. There are faded diagonal lines that stream across the screen (noticeable, but hard to photograph), and faint ghosting. Granted, its not SUPER prominent, and for as cheap of an adapter (that comes with an HDMI cable, no less!) its hard to complain, but I would be happier paying double the price for a clean image. If this adapter is going to be used on a display thats of poor quality, or by someone who doesnt care much about what it looks like, this is an excellent value.. if youre someone that values a clear picture (at least as much as you can get for 480P) then it might be best to look for a different product.

I have tried so many things to get my Wii to play on my newer TV. Finally a product that is as easy to use as the cable that originally came with the Wii. Its like Nintendo made this cable. Plug it into the console and into the TV, and thats it. Youll get all the video and audio quality of which the Wii is capable. I recommend this product.

Overall: This is a good product. Its easy to install, easy to use, and allows you to be able to continue using your Wii with modern TVs using HDMI. HD is only 480p (not 720p or 1080p so set your expectations ahead of time). It definitely looks sharper than using AV cables, however it does show some fuzzy lines on the screen which may annoy video game purists. Still very playable. ***Note: Remember to change Wii Settings to 480p in the menu or else you will experience glitches playing content.***

Ive had a Wii sitting in a cabinet for probably five years now since we got rid of our last CRT television and found it recently. I went to hook it up and realized the new TV only has HDMI inputs. I went ahead and ordered this and hooked it up. Note, it is very important in the Wii to set the resolution to 480p or you will get glitches and freezes. Newer 4K TVs certainly reveal the limitations of the Wiis graphics but its quite fun to crack out a nearly 20 year old game system and revisit Super Mario Brothers and Lego Indiana Jones. For a sub 10 dollar investment, you cannot go wrong if you have a working Wii and a newer TV.
