> 3 dayWe have 3 kids and 2 cats and this Irobot has been amazing. It cleans up crumbs, dust, hair and dirt very well. I run it once a day instead of vacuuming myself everyday. I now vacuum about once every 5 days to get the tough spots and small areas the irobot just doesnt get well enough. Out of multiple rooms it struggles the most in the room with cat litter. It definitely does not get every little piece like I wish it would but I guess I cant expect complete perfection!

> 3 dayThankfully I bought this when there was a sale because it is expensive. It’s worth it though! Being able to walk around the house and not constantly see pet hair all over makes it worth every cent. I have a German Shepard who basically just sheds daily, all year, no days off. If you know, you know. I definitely had to have the one that empties itself. The ONLY reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the self empty for 60 days thing. I looked back at the description but didn’t see much so I can only assume that means you don’t have to change the bag for 60 days. This is probably try for most people, however for the GSD crowd, this is not the case. I have had the vacuum for about three weeks now and I’m going on my 4th bag change. It’s a shame you cant just empty the bag and reuse it. Having to change it so often is going to get expensive but also seems really wasteful. Overall I’m happy with the purchase. It does want I wanted it to do and make life just a little easier (and much less furry).

> 3 dayThis is a great piece of technology. It does a pretty good job vacuuming. It sometimes gets caught up on chair legs or doormats. Its rotating brush wore out faster than expected. It often needs to be emptied manually. It takes a very long time. BUT... it does a pretty good job and it does it by itself! There is room for improvement, and we still need and use a real vacuum, but this little thing is a nice addition to our lives.

> 3 dayMake sure you do mapping before starting the cleaning process. The mapping took a couple hours, but now that it is mapped out it works great! Love that it automatically empties and picks up where it left off.

> 3 dayWe considered the more expensive S9, but decided on the j7 because we primarily have wood floors with some area rugs. We live in a tri-level and have moved the vacuum & stand to each floor for mapped and cleaning. OBSERVATIONS - The cleaning performance exceed our expectations - Quiet when cleaning except when complete the the base suctions the debris out of the j7 It is so quiet that we are surprised to hear it GENTLY bumps into things - we forget it is running - The methodical approach to covering the entire floor is refreshing compared to previous random pattern vacuums. - The mobile app is excellent. It shows a nice graphical representation of the cleaning after completion. I just wish it would show the coverage as it cleans (vs waiting until the end) - It detected and avoid electrical and USB cords. This is especially nice because we forgot what was under the couches & beds (out of sight out of mind). it NEVER ONE got tangled or pulled on the cords. - Faster at cleaning than our old random pattern vacuum. Those would run until they were nearly out of power verse knowing they covered the entire floor. With the mapping this vacuum knows where it needs to clean avoiding unnecessary vacuuming time. - The short squat base fits nicely next to dressers, night stands, and couches. While Roomba recommends space to either side of the base I ignored that recommendation to hid it away from casual viewing. It worked perfectly always finding its way home. - transitions over thresholds without an issue. Wood to carpet, wood to tile, tile to carpet, it never had an issue scaling the threshold. Interestingly it did not scale the padded mat I use at my standing desk. It somehow figured out it was not a threshold and vacuumed around the small pad. Nice! - The attached wall brash was deformed because of the way it was packaged or moved during shipping. I replaced with the included second brush and will try to straighten the brush arm after heating up with a heathen. It is not badly deformed and Im going to try to straighten simply because I have a heathen handy. - The packaging was good with minimal use of non-recyclable materials We are happy with the j7+ and will likely purchased an extra base or two to leave on the different floors of our house.

> 3 dayI had a very good, 5 year experience with my IRobot 900. I fully expected the J7+ to out perform the 900. I thought I was upgrading because I splurged and also bought the self emptying bin. I was completely wrong. I have been holding off on writing this review in order to give it a chance to do all of the mapping and acclamation that it needed to do. Its NOT getting better. CONS: 1. Upon first inspection, I noticed that it was lighter (not bad), but had a more plasticky feel than the older models and felt cheaply made. 2. Its noisier than the other models. 3. It is NOT good at all in the corners 4. Seems to be confused while mapping 5. Battery life could be MUCH better. The 900 did my entire downstairs w/o having to stop and had a bit of battery life to spare. 6. It gets clogged easily and frequently stops to tell me to empty bin. 7. Its NOT easy to empty the bin manually when asked to do so. 8. Many times, there really isnt anything in the bin that should have clogged it to begin with. 9. While it self empties after each job, you still need to manually wipe and clean all of the other parts. 10. I feel the need to be home babysitting the J7+ to get it through a complete job 11. Does not clean as well as the 900 12. It needs bags. Why couldnt it just empty into the big bin and empty that when needed. PROS: 1. Very easy to set up 2. Easy to set up the dividers and room assignments, and clean zones 3. Nice to be able to do a quick small job using the room assignments. 4. The self emptying feature is nice While the pros are good, I post them with a grain of salt because they dont always work as they should. I am still mourning the loss of my 900 and wish I could have stuck with it. A LOT of money for something that doesnt live up to all of the hype that IRobot claims.

Greater than one weekI really wanted to love the J7+. I researched it for weeks, read countless reviews and everything online was great. Of course there are some negative reviews but in my mind there will always be some. First I have to say I never write negative reviews. But this robot is a big disappointment. I have a dog and two cats and lots of pet fur that needs tending too daily. I’ve had the Roborock S4 max for two years running everyday for upkeep. It does a really good job but it doesn’t have an auto empty station. So, when the J7+ was 25% off. I was happy to upgrade my old robot. Day one: I ran it to create a map of my house. It spent a lot of time banging into everything and got scuffled up on it first run. It didn’t compete the map of my house. The directions say it’ll needs two or three runs to complete a map. So I know what to expect, no problem. Day two: it refuses to clean a 12 square foot area in my kitchen. It’s a a 4 foot wide open area with a single step down into another room. But it stays 3 feet away from the step/cliff. It still doesn’t complete the map of my house and spends most of its time banging into stuff. I notice it rolls up pet fur into what looks like strings of thick hair and leaves them all over my white carpet and it also likes to dump clumps of fur along the edges of my area carpets. Day 3: it still doesn’t complete the map and I have lots of areas on the map that it simply doesn’t go to. It got stuck on an imaginary obstacle on my hardwood floor with absolutely nothing around it. I run my other robot to complete the job and it picks up all that Roomba left behind. Each time it empties itself, it sounds like a jet plan in my house. Seriously a jet plane. Day 4: STILL cannot complete a map. It refuses to go into one bedroom. I pick it up and put in there to start mapping it. It creates a whole new map that can’t be connected to the original map. I have a single level home. It shouldn’t be this difficult to map it. Day 5: I try again, same results. I don’t have anymore patience nor time. I run my other robot and it completes over 2000 square feet in one run effectively and easily. I’m on Amazon writing this review and returning this roomba. Again I really wanted to love this robot. I really wanted to support an American company. I really wanted to believe the reviews. But they’re BS, no wonder it was 25% off. It stinks. Im giving it 3 stars because I feel bad giving it less and it’s better than manually sweeping everyday.

Greater than one weekFor the money I thought itd be better than it is. I often catch it going around a room the ring way so that the dust brush is on the opposite side of the wall which is pretty pointless. Often after a few weeks of flawless operation itll suddenly not be able to dock or find its way home or get stuck on obstacles inside of a keep out zone. Obstacle avoidance could be better, I often find the cats mouse toy sucked up in the main rollers. We have a cat and even though the rollers dont get bound up, they do get clogged full of hair so it requires pretty regularly cleaning and disassembly. A really good robot for $300 but a pretty lackluster experience at this price point.
