> 3 dayI bought two of these black backpacks for my kids last year. We needed one more this year, so I ordered the exact same one. For some odd reason, this years black backpack has a white lining on the inside. It looks nice since its brand new, but I would prefer a black or grey lining like last years model. I took away one star because of the white lining. Other than that, it seems like a good backpack.

Greater than one weekMy middle schooler uses and abuses this backpack every day and it holds up to all the heavy books and constant opening of zippers!! There are lots of pockets and room for all sorts of items. It was a great purchase!

> 3 dayI spent more than I would normally spend bc Jansport backpacks just hold up SO much better than cheaper generic brand backpacks. I have a 6th grader who has only carried jansport and both since kindergarten are in like new condition. She wanted a Grey backpack for middle school so I got her and off brand backpack that got great reviews a strap ripped off and zipper broke half way through the school year so I got her this jansport as a replacement and I am uper satisfied with my purchase, I highly recommend it!!

> 3 dayWhen I try to zip open any section of the backpack, it gets caught, even when closing it. As a high school student who only has 3 minutes to get to your next class I am worried this will make me late.

05-06-2025Love just about everything about this backpack - except the #*&^%!!! zippers!!! Ive owned JanSport backpacks for DECADES!!! I cant see anything on this one that indicates its some sort of knock-off, except maybe the zippers. They keep getting snagged in the little flaps above them that I think are designed to keep water out. If you are in any way handicapped and cant use more than one hand/arm, you will need to use your toes or something to get into this backpack. Either I have to fold the fabric out of the way or it will take multiple pulls on the zippers to get in. The only zippers that dont give me a hard time are the two tiny pockets that dont have a flap over them. Im already seeing the flaps getting frayed from all the times the zippers have gotten caught. Oh, well. Im no longer in the military, so I guess this might be the last backpack I need to buy anyway. But Im certainly never buying one online again.

But I bought this to reminisce about my 90s version and the material is not the same or as flexible/soft as the old canvas of the 90s. The flaps over the zippers gets in the way but I’m hoping after use it’ll wear down and more workable.
