> 3 dayThis is a great back pack. The only thing not liked is the flaps that cover the zippers. They serve a purpose but also get caught in the zippers.

> 3 dayOverall, this backpack is made very well and I will definitely use it. However, I wish I had paid a little more attention to a close-up photo of it because I might have noticed that the zippers are hidden by fabric. Aesthetically this is wonderful but practically it’s not. The fabric is a little stiffer than it looks to be in the photos. That shouldn’t be a downside, except it’s kind of hard to zip and unzip the pockets because you have to keep pushing the somewhat stiff fabric out of the way. Even when it was full, I had to tussle with the zipper a bit. I’ve used it for several days now, and it takes more time than I would like to get everything zipped up and then later get everything zipped open without having to mess with the fabric. I hope the fabric becomes a little less stiff with age, or I can picture myself becoming very frustrated with it the more times I use it. If I had seen this at the store and played with it a bit I would not have purchased it. Other than that, I would’ve given it five stars because it is very roomy, the straps are great, and it has some great pockets, although I would’ve liked a few hidden ones inside a couple of the pouches.

> 3 dayA few welcome changes this time around - a better back pad, a dedicated laptop sleeve in the rear compartment, a sturdier water resistant floor. The fabrics, zippers, and construction look to be as durable as before. Edit 2/09/23: The older models largest outside compartment had a double-slide zipper. Not a biggie, but I miss that on the new one.

> 3 dayThe bag is a great size for my high school student who carries all his binders with him during the day and doesn’t use a locker. I bought him black so it would not show a lot of dirt or stains. When I opened it up, I discovered the lining is white in all pockets. I can see how it could be useful when you are looking for items. However, this bag is for a teenager and I am expecting the liner to look gross in a matter of a day or two. I will keep it because our delivery time was already delayed and his other bag is broken. I trust Jansport as a quality brand but I am not on board with white liners!

> 3 dayIve had my pack a couple of months now, and it seems to be well-constructed and durable. I was initially nervous about how compact it was, but is nicely designed to have quite a bit of space within a compact footprint. As others have commented, the zippers can be a little awkward due to the protective fabric lip covering them. The zipper does NOT get caught in the fabric, however, in my experience. The only reason for the 4-star rating is that I wish it were about an inch taller to fit my 15-inch laptop. It does fit, but snugly, and I worry that the pressure against the top of the pack may result in extra wear over time.
