KAVU Rope Bag - Sling Pack for Hiking, Camping, and Commuting

This rope bag is super cute and very functional. It works as a purse, carry-on bag, gear bag, day pack etc. Its not quite big enough to work as a school bag (cant fit textbooks) but its sturdy and great for many other uses.

I love love love these bags! Got myself one for adventuring with children last summer. Love that its comfy, can hold my necessities plus a couple water bottles and snacks. During Covid I love that I dont ever need to set it down in stores or on counters to grab my wallet and I can use the restroom without taking it off. I have used it almost continually for over a year and its held up perfectly. Last Christmas I bought my sister one and she has gone on to buy more (and uses them daily). This Christmas my 2 sister in laws are getting one as is my mother in law. Ive even managed to find styles to fit everyones unique personalities. Now if someone would just buy me more....

I bought for my cruising backpack! Perfect size. Holds everything and VERY comfortable.

Had bought the mini bag because it said it could fit large cell phone but returned it when phone wouldnt fit. This bag is a better size.

I bought this to take to Disney World. It was perfect. It held everything that I needed to take to the parks. It holds a lot more than you would think. I have machine washed and dried and it came out great.

Travelled for 2 weeks in Italy and wore this sling bag every single day. Great for hiking Cinque Terre, exploring ruins of the Roman Forum and Rome’s ancient Colosseum, and shopping. Excellent quality. Perfect size. Can wear front, back, or side. My daughter has used a Kavu bag for years on all outings with her kids — whether grocery store or beach. I highly recommend.

I really didnt like this bag and immediately returned it. I have come to see that for me, Kavu bags are better when its a big tote or duffel for utilitarian purposes. I ordered a Kavu purse style bag once and was very disappointed in the super-rough fabric (like a Carhartt jacket) and this backpack style bag was no different. The fabric is great for other types of bags but not something Im gonna wear close to my skin. I found the tobacco color also to be like a Carhartt jacket. For me thats not appealing! After my initial disappointment with the bags appearance, I tried it on. UGH! Its huge and fit very awkwardly on me, covering my entire back and part of my rear...I would imagine this would be extremely uncomfortable when hiking (my intended purpose). Adjusting the strap tightly made no improvement for me in the oversize state of the bag - and Im a grown woman, tall and curvy. No thanks! I do give the bag 3 stars though because its not bad if you were a much larger person and maybe got a different color or pattern that was more visually appealing. I see a lot of reviews complaining about the front pockets not holding a smartphone properly. I think there would be NO problem with the bag I received...the smallest top pocket with Velcro seemed very secure and was just the right size for my older iPhone 5. I think even some friends very large phones (Windows phone or iPhone 6+) would fit easily into the slightly larger lower pocket which has a zipper all the way around it.
