My 2nd time using this 80 mil kilmat. First was a 2011 Camry (turned a Toyota into a Lexus. LOL). Put a nice system (Focal speakers, etc) in Camry…. Used the Kilmat inside the doors on the doors skins, under the door panels, trunk floor, trunk sides, trunk lid, license plate, behind and under back seat. It did a great job of isolating the interior from outside…. Knock on the door skins and it sounds like a thud instead of a ring; shut the doors with the music cranked and you barely hear it outside the car! And no rattles from the sub hitting. Now I’m doing a 2011 Tundra crewmax with a very high end system…. Focal utopia components, Focal K2 power components rear, focal flax series subs, Kenwood 1037 head,JL vx800i, JL XD600/1v2,etc Used kilmat inside doors, under door panels, behind rear seat, 4 coats of rubberized undercoating spray under cab, then used 1/4” closed cell foam (siless) over the top of all above listed locations (except outside under cab)… WOW! WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The kilmat isolates and dampens while the closed cell foam adds the acoustic deadening I was looking for. The undercoating sprayed under the cab of the truck added the damping and isolation under the truck without having to pull the seats and carpet to install kilmat.. The sound made from just shutting the doors makes it obvious how much better the listening environment is going to be. I have bought (3) boxes of kilmat 80 mil 36 sq ft, (2) boxes of siless closed cell foam, 3 pack of installation “rollers” …. About 300.00 Spend less on your components and do the above process first. You’ll get much more out of your audio equipment! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Did all 4 doors of my 2020 Taco and had 7 pieces left over out of a 36 ft box. This stuff works great. I didnt realize how much noise I was listening to until I wasnt. Very easy to apply, and it doesnt have to be perfect, and you can cut patches to fit small or irregular spaces. 3 hints: If youre not using rollers on this after you stick it on the door, youre NOT installing it right; smaller pieces are easier to deal with than large sheets; and keep this in the shade before you apply it, it will get difficult if it gets too warm.

I got it for the doors because I put in a new radio. It helped!

OK, first of all Ive been professionally taking cars apart and putting them back together for the last 7 years as an autobody/refinish tech. You see some cars with little to no sound deadner and some higher end cars with lots of it. Eventually you come to see/hear/feel the difference this stuff actually makes for cars that didnt have it at all or have very much of it. Weve always used the 3M sound deadner pads that are shiny, black, and come 10 large (19x19) squares in a box. Did a 2008 Crown Vic with those, they worked well. Those are much thicker than this stuff and weigh a fair amount more. (NO, Im not complaining about weight) I just always thought that if it was heavier it HAD to be better. Well, Im working at a different larger shop now, and it wouldve been harder/more expensive to get the 3M pads, so I gave these a shot. I had to do a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe for noisy/hollow sounding doors, a couple of which pinged like a drum head when they closed, thanks to the foam/adhesive breaking down on the diagonal support inside the door that the door-skin is bonded to. So, I did a few big strips, (it does not need to be completely covered!!) inside all 4 passenger doors, and rear gate. The stuff cuts good with a sharp box-cutter (watch the foil edges) Also, it sticks very well when pressed or rolled into place. I then added some Noico red foam to help with additional road noise dampening and insulation. I know some people complain about the smell but I never noticed it at all in the Hyundai or my 2018 F-150. This stuff worked great! got rid of all of the pinging/hollow sounding doors and it also gives you a pleasant increase in sound quality/bass response even with stock speakers! The Hyundai doors now sound like closing the doors on a car 3x its price tag with by doing that. They sound nice and solid now when they close. I also did all the doors on my 2018 F-150 with the other half of the box of this and the Noico foam, good results there too!! I will still have a small amount leftover that will go somewhere in the F-150 cab. Good price! Definitely recommend to get rid of hollow/cheap sounding doors or added for those looking for better sound!

I installed this in my 1969 Camaro to reduce the noise level while driving. I had already installed new carpet and insulation but it was still loud inside the car while driving. I removed everything and installed the Kilmat on the floor, inside the door panels, and inside the quarter panels. It truly made a huge difference and made me a believer in this product.

Very easy to work with and great adhesion. You will need the Norsmic roller to make this job a success. No smell at all. Installed in the rear trunk of a 2015 Kia Forte which sits low to the ground and absorbs a lot of road noise. This quieted things down I would say 90%. Makes for a quiet ride and helped with sound quality as having a subwoofer in the trunk it kept any rattling from happening. Perfect purchase, I am very happy

If you have ever had a rattle trap fbody, you understand that the road noise is horrific, and theres alot of squeaks . In an effort to make the car more enjoyable on a highway drive, I figured Id try it out. I got way more product than I had figured I would get so thats a plus. The key is to hit the main areas of noise, not every single square inch. Thats just added weight with no real benefit. It did help the road noise a good bit and I still have like 6 sheets left to install in my trunk pan. I took the car on a 1600 mile trip shortly after and enjoyed it so much. Buy the $10 rolly tool they recommend, its very worth it, and wear gloves. That foil is sharp! Ill be ordering some more in the future for my door skins and up in the headliner area.

I completed a full replacement of the interior of my 86 K20. Once I had everything out of the cab, I cleaned the painted floor and put these squares down. I did not get meticulous and cover every single square inch of the cab floor but definitely got 99% of it just to the back wall of the cab. This box was more than enough and I still have about 1/3 or more of the box left. I went from a rubber mat to new carpet on top of this stuff and there is a noticeable difference in the sound level. Hard to say how much is from this and how much is from the carpet itself but the interior is much more comfortable now.

I installed this throughout my Montero Sport, mostly in the rear cargo area to quiet the many rattles that come from 200k+ miles of driving around Montana/PNW. I pulled off the interior trim panels and placed a layer on the inside of the exterior sheet metal fender panels, then a layer on the inner sheet metal panel that frames out the cargo area and the trim panels clip in to. I got about 70-75% coverage, mostly because I was being a little lazy and a bit rushed, but I also didnt want to interfere with any holes that were used for trim clips. Or run out of the 65sq/ft before ordering more. I feel like the 80mil material is heavy/dense enough that 100% coverage wouldnt really be necessary. I did do both front doors so far, along with most of the rear and there is definitely a difference. A lot of the rattles are completely gone, while the bigger, louder noises that came from offroad driving are considerably quietier. The loud banging from rocks getting thrown into the wheel wells is much less noticeable. The doors close with a much more solid sounding thud with no rattles then before. I have decent Rockford speakers in my doors but nothing loud enough to notice any sound quality differences as far as stereos and such are concerned. This product will probably stick to anything, but I strongly suggest giving the surface a wipe down if its dusty. Its repositional as long as youve only got a few square inches stuck down, any more than that and good luck. Cuts pretty easily with a utility knife on a scrap of OSB or something. Definitely worth the money and time invested to not hear everything rattle on long off-road trips.
