I don’t often write reviews…
Greater than one weekI was doing 4 doors and the liftgate, so I only bought 1 box. I didn’t do 100% coverage on the liftgate, but fairly complete single layer coverage on the inside of the door panels (backside of the exterior panel) as well as some of the interior part of the door panel for the 4 doors and had 1/2 a box left over. Used a utility knife and cutting board to cut the material easily. It was a warm FL day so it was easy to roll the material onto the panel with good adhesion. To help cut pieces for odd shapes areas, I put a piece of backing paper in the space and folded or marked it for the right shape like a template. Sound deadening was immediately noticeable, reducing road noise, making the speakers sound much better, and the doors sound more solid when closing them. For even better sound reduction i would suggest pulling the headliner and do the roof too which is thin sheet metal. Maybe I’ll do it in the future. Overall, happy!

Greater than one weekI completed a full replacement of the interior of my 86 K20. Once I had everything out of the cab, I cleaned the painted floor and put these squares down. I did not get meticulous and cover every single square inch of the cab floor but definitely got 99% of it just to the back wall of the cab. This box was more than enough and I still have about 1/3 or more of the box left. I went from a rubber mat to new carpet on top of this stuff and there is a noticeable difference in the sound level. Hard to say how much is from this and how much is from the carpet itself but the interior is much more comfortable now.

> 3 daySuper easy to install! I just cut up the material a bit and applied it with one of the cheap sound deadener rollers that are on Amazon. The noise level went down significantly with only about 30 percent coverage on some of the van panels. Previously, the sound had been so bad, that my husband and I could not hear each other talk even when we were yelling, and I felt like my dental fillings might fall out from the vibrations. After applying the sound deadener, I took a day trip a few states away, and I actually forgot to listen and check on the noise level, because the noise level had reduced so much. I recently replaced a door on my van, and because that door doesnt have sound deadener, you can now hear a lot of rattling but only from that door. Have to get the roller and sound deadener out again.

> 3 dayI am in the midst of upgrading the audio system in my (new to me) 2009 Acura RDX. Six of the ten factory installed speakers had seen better days. The voice coils were shot in several of them found in the driver and passenger, front and back doors. There is a lot of great information available on you tube videos on steps to take to improve the sound quality of your auto sound system. Of course, replacing the speakers with some quality aftermarket models is an obvious first choice. I learned that another item to consider is Kilmat Car Sound Deadening Mat, available in 80mil and 50mil thickness. The thicker the better is good to consider installing when possible. Cut out paper templates of the various shapes and sizes of the mat for good fitment. Disposable surgical trauma scissors do a good job of cutting the mat to desired size. Be sure to also purchase the 3-pack of installation rollers. It is important to roll over the mat with the rollers to ensure proper adhesion of the sound deadening sheets to the metal door panels. Kilmats waffled aluminum top sheep product design easy shows where the mats have been rolled. The installed mats do add some weight to the vehicle. However, the marked decrease in sound reasonance is a welcome trade-off. Even installing mat to ~25% of the door panel will result in considerable sound deadening.

Price is good, really good, but….
> 3 dayI mean you get what your paying for. My car already has almost 36 cubic feet of Ballistic deadener. That’s my last piece , and I want to say that one weighs about the same as 5 sheets of the Kilmat. As you can see the kilmat will take up more space. That might good for some, but I’m pushing my Jetta hard for SPL and I been getting some very annoying rattles still. So there’s a few spots I missed with the Ballistic, but I wasn’t trying to spend $200 on more of that so I got this kilmat. I’m sure it’ll get me there right. However I’m 99 percent sure if I originally got kilmat I’d be very unsatisfied . I didn’t want to wait on shipping or pay too much. There’s only the roof and a few odds and ends left to do so I’ll just double it. If your just trying to remove trunk rattle for a 500 to 1200 watts setup this might be ok for some. Maybe the doors . But if your like me, there’s going to be much more you’ll need to do, this aint gonna work

> 3 dayThis was really great quality insulation - stripped my car to the frame (removed trim and chairs etc) and adhered it to the frame itself. Easy to cut the pieces down to size with a simple box cutter (though will get gunked up over time with the black stuff inside). Put it down, kinda use a flat surface thingy (I used an old name tag from work) and then went over it with my hands (the heat from your hands helps). Now my car is clean, quiet and warm in this cold front were all having. Highly recommend if youre looking to quiet your car from outside or engine noises (Id say a good 20-30% decrease from before I did this). Very happy with how it turned out.
