Works. A longer handles might be helpful to provide even more leverage. I have to use a large crescent prayer to help me squeeze the handles of the nipper to snip off a #8 SS bolt head.

Chops through finishing nails like a pretzel stick. If you have nails sticking out of wood that you otherwise cant pull out, this is what you need to cut them down to size.

Great tool, cuts heavy rivets with ease. Top shelf quality!!

I chose these cutters for leather working because they have a compound action. This makes cutting brass rivets more manageable than with traditional cutters, the handles are offset to the side of the cutters and that also helps gaining access to cutting in some hard to reach areas .

Only time will tell if the price is justified over a Crescent/Chanel lock etc. No doubt a top line tool. Is it really as great as the hype? Ask in 10 years of abuse.

The design gives you a lot of leverage and it functions as I expected it would, but I do have one complaint. This tool is exceptionally expensive, much more so than your average end nippers. With that said, I purchased this tool for the purpose of cutting and pulling framing nails out of wood. I thought this would be great for that reason because of the ease of clearance as the shank of the nail passes through the cutters and is unimpeded by the joint. However, the jaws simply do not open wide fast enough, meaning you have to pull the handles do far apart for it to fit a common framing nail that it makes one handed operation difficult. Its easier to get a grip on nails with simple end cutters than these. Sure, this tool may cut easier, but whats the purpose in all that cutting power if you cant get a grip on larger stock? Hopefully I have explained this in a way that is easy to understand. Overall its a great tool if you need to make flush cuts on small stock, but try to use it as a nail puller and it is more difficult than it should be. I am taking away a star because at this price, I expect such a feature. Without it, the tool becomes far less useful to me.

The way these are designed definitely make making cuts a lot easier, I got them for cutting nails and screws out of baseboard radiators when I can’t get them out, and they work very well with no signs of wear.

I used this tool to cut off roofing nails that protruded into my porch ceiling. The tool performed flawlessly.

Purchased to cut off nails protruding from the first floor though into the basement before installing new duct work. The nippers have excellent leverage for cutting through wire nails, even with my mildly arthritic hands. Not good for cut nails, however, as these are harder but fortunately more brittle. Easier to bend these back-and-forth with pliers until they break
