These Knipex wire cutters are actually mini bolt cutters. They are made in Germany using the highest level of materials and workmanship, and there is absolutely nothing else in the market that can match them for continuous work. I have a construction company that specializes in wildlife fencing and we have used Knipex continually for 25 years for cutting 12.5 gauge high tensile galvanized wire. Although we have tried a number of different brands from time to time to reduce costs, nothing else works for us. We even tried good Klein wiremans pliers and found that their jaws broke in the first day of use. All of our employees are issued Knipex for daily use.

Purchased these for cutting 12.5 gauge high tensile fencing wire. Cuts cleanly requiring only a reasonable pressure on squeeze. Cannot testify as to projected life of cutting edges.
