> 3 dayI bought the local Ace brand air gap and went to install it and noticed that there is only one rubber gasket that is supposed to go on top of the counter and is visible. The previous air gap was the same brand and someone installed with the gasket below and the sink deck had gotten wet over the years with water seeping through the crack. I returned it for this product. The gasket at the top is seamless and prevents water from seeping down below the sink. The gasket below is a further guard against any water intrusion. So for me it was worth the extra $$ for piece of mind and not worrying about leaks.

> 3 dayIt did not work. The plumber was also perplexed with the connections. Dirty water from the Dishwasher empties on to the kitchen counter! We inspected and reconnected the connections several times, with similar results. Kraus was courteous and sent me a replacement. But i do not want to spend another $100, to pay the plumber when he says that he cannot guarantee that it will work.

Greater than one weekIt looks nice and seems sturdy. I subtracted a start because its five times louder than the crappy one it replaced.

> 3 dayFunction - I ordered this to replace an old air gap that was leaking. The install is pretty simple and straightforward. I ran the dishwasher and no leaks. I also got a new sink and had to cut a hole for the air gap. I used a 1 1/4 inch diamond hole saw bit and the air gap fit perfectly in the hole (I saw other reviews saying it didn’t fit in theirs so I thought I’d throw some measurements here). Finish - I bought the stainless steel to match my stainless steel Glacier Bay faucet but it doesn’t match 100%. See attached picture. My faucet has a bit shinier of a finish. Perhaps I will purchase a Kraus faucet in the future to get the perfect match but it does the job for now.
