> 3 dayUsed to rekey a lock that missing key shim works well. You need to use consistent firm pressure when used for this purpose.

Mr Gadget
Greater than one weekIf you have a box of locks without keys, use these to remove the cylinders for re-pinning. They cant be used on the front of any locks Ive seen, so the lock has to be taken off the door prior to use. They appear to be original LAB parts, and fits nicely in my pin kit. I get a lot of uses of of one shim.. if you ding the end, trim it off and use it again.

> 3 dayThese are used when re-pinning a lock to keep the pins from popping out when you remove the core. These are NOT padlock shims that are used on padlocks to slide around the shackle and cause a spring loaded shackle retaining mechanism to retract thereby opening the padlock, aka shimming a padlock. As others have noticed, these are too thin for padlock shimming and are the wrong shape and size. That being said, some padlocks have very little clearance around the shackle and could possibly be shimmed by using this very thin material if cut to a proper size to fit. It is not their intended purpose and one shouldnt review them negatively for being too thin as a padlock shim as this isnt their intended purpose. Go to the Sparrows website and search on padlock shim to see what padlock shims look like. Cheers!

> 3 dayThe shims come in a small container to keep them from getting damaged or lost. The count is 25 per container, a good price for the quantity. The shims are sturdy and reusable (if your careful).
