When these were purchased I had never attempted to shim a lock. Since theyve arrived Ive opened seven or eight locks in effort to develop some skill. They simply work.

The shims are the right thickness to fit but they are not rigid enough to unlock even the most basic masterlock. This is a shim that got stuck and even after opening the lock with the key it would not budge. Using tweezers, the remnant the you see in the photo is all that could be retrieved. After opening it with the key, the remnants inside were shredded and couldnt be removed. The lock is now partially damaged.

I can find them for less at another vender but, the shipping cost made the difference. They the same distributer and worked great for me. I would recommend the purchase

The shims are cleanly cut and slip into space with no problem, they are not quite stiff enough for stubborn pins, they bend with even light pressure. It would be nice if they came in different lenths

Used to rekey a lock that missing key shim works well. You need to use consistent firm pressure when used for this purpose.
