> 3 dayI purchased this in the fall of 17. I keep guppies, and one of them gave birth. I have been using the xlarge kritter keeper as a nano tank to rear some of the fry in. Would probably also be good as a bredding tank for a pair or trio of adults. Potentially also a good tank for a betta.

> 3 daySo far this is perfect for our Monarch cats. We have 10 large cats inside with several branches of milkweed. It is easy to see inside and see when it needs to be cleaned. The square entry hole lid is very difficult to open, we have four cats ready to make their chrysalises, dont want to disturb them so we lightly taped it shut. It is big enough for an adults hand to fit inside with no problem, so that is good. Like other reviewers have said, the lid snaps on very tightly, dont know how we would get it off without disturbing the chrysalises, but at least we know they cant escape!

> 3 dayI had a sick betta in my 20 gallon. I grabbed this from a store along with a small filter and heater to make a quick quarantine tank and treat him. Worked perfectly and hes back in his habitat. I planned to remove it after but I still have this tank going, filled with plants. Will probably put some shrimp in it. For keeping fish long term Id recommend getting a larger setup, but this is perfect for a space-saving temporary housing.

> 3 dayI have pet garden snails and this is a great home for them. Like others have said the lid can be a bit of a pain to get off, but as Ive also got cats that occasionally like to jump onto the tanks and say hello to their shell-wearing housemates, a firm lid is probably a good thing. Ive recently adopted a trio of banana slugs as well, and theyve already grown quite a bit,cap I expect Ill be getting another of these for them soon!

> 3 dayOf all the Kritter Keepers I have have had over the years, this is the one I am most unhappy with. I have three other X-Large sized cages at home, but they are more spacious than this one (hard to tell if supplied measurements were from base or top of cage), and that is what I had expected. Ive never seen a cage this size before. That aside, the main issue I have with this is that the lid does not come on and off easily. It is really tight on the main plastic cage and you really have to work at it to get it off. Usually lids I have had for all Kritter Keepers in the past come on and off easily once you pull out the little indented areas, but this one is way too tight and it really requires a lot of force to get it off.

Greater than one weekNot really much larger than the large. It has taller sides but the actual floor area isnt that much larger. I dont think its worth the price.

06-06-2025I bought this tank for my goldfish. I will not recommend getting anything less than this size for a fish aquarium. This tank is a 6 gallon tank, and I only have 1 fish in it. I am able to fit in my small filter, 1 ornament and 2 plants and also my air pump tubes. Its great, my fish loves it. I think this is my final upgrade for my fishs home. I tried literally all sizes of the Lees Kritters except for the mini size. They are all excellent quality and very reasonably priced. I am a college student so its not realistic for me to have a glass tank in my dorm room. Also I do not want my tank to be super fragile as I will have to take it home over long breaks. This tank is great because it is ventilated at the top, it also has food holders so I put my two cans of fish food on the top and it doesnt slide off. I personally think this is a much better tank than its more expensive alternates, if you are looking to house 1 or 2 small fish or guppies/bettas, definitely get it. It also DOES not look cheap, so it has a nice presentation. Most important thing of all is the air holes on the hood, this is very vital to the health of your fish in promoting good aeration, especially if you do not have an air pump. Ventilated hoods are not common in the more expensive glass tanks with the black hoods. Thank you Lees Kritter!!

> 3 dayOK so Ive read some of the other reviews about the lid on this thing and yes, it does fit very tight. I will say this though, the lid is made of a much more pliable plastic and after a few uses it starts to lose its super tight fit. That being said I love this. Its spacious and exactly what I was looking for.
