How difficult can it be to punch down a keystone jack? I bought these jacks, that are almost $7 a piece versus CableMatters $2 each, thinking that I could speed up terminations with Fluke’s JackRapid tool. What a huge disappointment. First off, the cable is only able to come out at an angle using the JackRapid and not straight out the back of these keystones. Not Leviton’s fault, I’ll admit. Try and punch these jacks with a 110 tool and there is no strain relief when you have the network cable coming straight out from the jack. Definitely the combination of the 23 AWG cable + JackRapid tool + expensive Leviton QuickPorts = frustration... wasted time. I can do 3 CableMatter’s jacks with a 110 than I can using the “QuickPort” jacks. The quality of the jacks is very good but that doesn’t cut the mustard when installing them takes so long.

Even with the recent drop in price, these keystones remain overpriced for what they offer. Firstly, putting 568A termination schematic labels under the more widely used 568B, is a bad practice. Most manufactures have both punchdown schemes visible on the jack. In addition, what if you remove the first label and years later want to change your network configuration The Leviton jacks are easy enough to punch down but the wire strain relief clip seems flimsy and doesnt provide much support and will easily break if you drop one or step on one. If you like this style of CAT6 keystone (as I do) Id recommend the Commercial Electric brand jacks at Home Depot, of all places. They are wildly expensive, too. But the build quality is much better than the Levitons and the strain relief caps are snug, snap shut securely and are more durable.

Great connectors with the right tool to install it, just wish they werent so much.

These connectors may have convinced me to just buck up and pay for good CAT6 connectors in the future. Theyre really, really nice to terminate, and they fit correctly in the wall plates. The offbrand just arent as nice, and sometimes dont fit side by side in the wall plate.

The Leviton quick ports work well and snap easily into the wall plates. The wire connections color coding is easily readable make the cat5 or cat6 ethernet cable easy to install on the quick port.

Product description for 150pk is wrong. Jackrapid tool was not included.
