> 3 dayA short in the battery compartment between the downward led and the batteries caused the cells to get extremely hot, melt a wire and start smoking. I had to throw it onto the sidewalk before it burned my hand and the battery exploded inside the handle. The two others didn’t seem to have this design flaw but I’m returning them.

> 3 dayGood set for the price. Works well in the rain and have had no issues with battery life. They are neat for the kids, and I enjoy using them when I have to walk the dog at night. Never had to use the little flashlight at the bottom because the handle is so bright.

Greater than one weekFun way to stay dry! Like the added visibility for safety reasons, as well as the down-pointing light to illuminate where you are walking.

> 3 daySo one of these worked fine without any issues. One was permanently lit up (meaning the batteries would constantly need to be changed), and one didn’t work at all. With about ten minutes of work I was able to get that one working (and permanently broke the other), so in the end I have two light up umbrellas, and three umbrellas I can use. Amazon did give me a 50% discount in the end, so I probably ended up ahead, but who knows how long these will last.

> 3 dayI got these as spare umbrellas for my kids. As I put the batteries in the first one I discover the light does not work, within a minute The handle starts getting very hot and theres a smell of warm plastic. I quickly disassemble with the batteries almost too hot to touch. after some investigation it turns out one of the electrical connections that the handle screws into can bend out of the way and sort out the battery pack.
