> 24 hourMy router had ports that were capped. But after installing the switch it opened up the port and allow me to use my full bandwidth for gaming. No more lagging or getting kicked out of the server.

> 24 hourUnfortunately, this switch did not work for me. I have a satellite box in the living room that I am trying to get connected to the internet. Since I dont have ethernet cable ran through the house, and the box is not wireless, I have to use the Netgear Powerline 1200 adapters. Had problems with a Netgear and D-Link switch losing packets. Saw the good reviews for this switch so thought Id give it a try. Packet loss is still happening. Whats weird about this problem is if I connect an Apple Airport Extreme in bridge mode to the satellite box, no packet loss occurs. If someone sees this review and can offer up an explanation in the comments, it would sure be helpful. I would imagine that if you have cat5e or cat6 cable ran through the house, the switch would work fine. However, if you are using a powerline adapter, you may want to consider using a router set to bridge mode as your switch. For some reason, this seems to work better. To be fair, Im giving the Linksys switch 3 stars because I cant positively confirm there isnt another problem causing the packet loss.

> 24 hourGets the job done. Needed a splitter to network my four computers in my loft area. Had I not been so hasty to purchase I probably would have gotten the comparable model TP-Link for half the price, but Linksys products have always been good to me, and Im sure it will be in use for years to come. Setup was obviously quite easy: plug in the power adaptor and plug in ethernet cables. It doesnt get much simpler than that. Tested and is running at full gigabit speeds and it is nice to have all my machines in the room hard-lined and networked to each other for fast file transfers. Would I buy again? probably not, Id get the TP-Link for $15 since just looking for a simple 5-port switch, but I dont regret the purchase and wont be returning for the $15 I could save... next time though, will opt for the cheaper option unless its part of my critical network infrastructure.

> 24 hourDid exactly what we needed. Ran a long ethernet cord through the yard from the router inside and connected it to this for internet in our outside office. Works great!

> 24 hourThis is my second 8 port switch from Linksys. I have daisy chained it to my first 8 port Linksys and have several devices now operating off my Spectrum Router. Works good and is well made.

> 24 hourI purchased this unmanaged switch for my Google Nest router, since you only get a single Ethernet port with those. The switch itself is of great quality and looks nice. I love the heavier metal used in such a compact thing, that has a robust and durable feel. I was also expecting it to be larger and bulkier honestly. It is very easy to set up. Just plug the switch into your router and you’re good to go. It comes with some driver software in the box. Not really sure why you’d need to download anything to use this however. Only reason for four stars is the blue power light. It is blindingly bright in a darker room. The green networking lights above each Ethernet port are nice and subtle and easy on the eyes. Don’t know why they made this power light so bright just to let you know it’s turned on. It’s a pretty blue, but dang, if only there was a way to turn it down and it wasn’t so bright. Perhaps you can do this with the software provided? Nevertheless, I do recommend this unmanaged switch for adding more Ethernet ports to your network, especially for us Google Nest and Google WiFi users.

> 24 hourI like the size, layout, and changing color LEDs conditioned by the nature of the data flow. Unfortunately it is now unavailable ... May be a Covid-19 collateral damage ?

> 24 hourJust the perfect thing to update my Cisco Linksys router. I just plugged it up in place of my old E2500 unit, and it worked perfectly w/o a bunch of code-entering. This should have been possible years ago. It allows signal strengths over 100 Mbps to pass through to your connected units. No one tells us that the old routers were limited to 100 Mbps, so unless someone verbally tips you off or youre on some special program to keep you abreast of new products and how they solve old problems, youre out in the cold. This type of unit is call an unmanaged system, whereas the older Linksys I have is a magaged one (meaning, I suppose that you have enter all the code choices in the setup so that it will work properly). Until the unmanaged ones came out, weve been in the dark ages of internet connections. Your kids wont ever have this miserable history of experiences and costly visits from your IT guy(s) at home.
