I needed an Ethernet switch that had enough ports to connect my Linksys Velop Mesh router system, my Ring security system, and to hard connect my laptop via Ethernet for those Zoom calls where I wanted to ensure no wifi dropping. This switch works perfectly for all of that with ports still available. It’s small and easy to work with. I also ordered some short (1’) Ethernet cables to help with cord management since all of the units were close together. It’s been over a month and everything is working great with no issues.

Decided to run my own ethernet wiring through the walls and needed some extra ports to handle the wiring in two parts of the house. I purchased two of these. I have speed tests between tow computers on my LAN. Both tests were through ethernet CAT 6 cables. There are 30 connected devices on my small network (ethernet or WiFi connected phones, speakers, iPads, laptops, desktop computers, set-top boxes, TVs, weather sensors, and a robot vacuum). The first test was between two desktop computers running off the same NAT router (before adding this switch) showed 980 Mbps throughput for upload and download; the test after installing the switch returned the same values.

Gets the job done. Needed a splitter to network my four computers in my loft area. Had I not been so hasty to purchase I probably would have gotten the comparable model TP-Link for half the price, but Linksys products have always been good to me, and Im sure it will be in use for years to come. Setup was obviously quite easy: plug in the power adaptor and plug in ethernet cables. It doesnt get much simpler than that. Tested and is running at full gigabit speeds and it is nice to have all my machines in the room hard-lined and networked to each other for fast file transfers. Would I buy again? probably not, Id get the TP-Link for $15 since just looking for a simple 5-port switch, but I dont regret the purchase and wont be returning for the $15 I could save... next time though, will opt for the cheaper option unless its part of my critical network infrastructure.

I have 3 of se3008 for different areas of my house. when I ordered the last one it ended up being a version 2 ( I didnt see it anywhere in the post) the difference is the ports and lights are on the front instead of the back which I dont like at all. the v1 has the ports and power on the back and status lights on the front which made it cleaner for my application. the unit is still a great unit though.

Works as described. Wish the connections were in the back and lights in the front, but no big deal. Utility is more important than aesthetics.

True 1GB fabric I see 1.56 upload speeds with this switch if that tells you anything. The downstream is a bit low due to time of day and time of week a lot of folks watching netflix and such but I get over 1GB (check picture) there as well with this switch. With the proper equipment and internet connection and hardware the sky is the limit and over network it is the same maxes out my NVME SSD. Any more is overkill but still 10GB ethernet is long over due for consumers to own whats the hold up lets make it happen folks lets make providers and hard drives the bottle neck again!

Shipped in less than two day. Works great exactly what I needed it for, to keep desktop and laptop both hard wired to ethernet while at home. Speeds stay fast even with the splitter.

I tried to set up a wired network in my house with a router, the problem was that I was connecting it to a wireless router as well and even when I turned off router functionality it created problems for me. Once I did a little research, I found the best way to fix my problems was to find a switch and set it up as part of my network. Everything works great now. My set up is as follows: Cable modem -> Airport Extreme -> Linksys 8-Port Switch -> home distribution Having the router in between the modem and the switch was the key to getting this set up properly
