Greater than one weekThere is a mistake in this classic book! I dont know if it was intentionally meant as a joke by the author (to see how many people would notice) or if it was a hastily drawn mistake, but in the picture where the girls had come home AFTER visiting Madeleine in the hospital, they are all standing in line, breaking their bread (before they brush their teeth and go to bed). Count them. When they are breaking their bread there are twelve! In the next three consecutive picture of the girls there are only eleven. Since we know Madeleine is in the hospital there is an extra little girl in this one picture! I have never heard or seen any discussion about this and would like to know if any of you has ever noticed it! It has bothered me for years!

> 3 dayI admit I bought this one for myself, too! My son loves it as much as I did and its in board book form so I can leave it in his room (hes 18 months) and not have to worry hell tear the pages. I could read this book over and over - we read it three times last night. Its condensed from the original story but just the right amount so it can keep a toddlers interest. I like it because it has words and scenes that arent in any other of his board books. We love Madeline, the bravest littlest French girl at Miss Clavels house!

> 3 dayMy almost 2-year old daughter had outgrown many of her baby board books, but was not yet ready for regular-paged childrens books. This book had enough words and interesting pictures to keep her attention throughout the entire book. BUT it wasnt so long and wordy that she lost interest. SO - of course it doesnt include the entire original Madeline story --- it is a board book. For toddlers. There is only so much toddlers can handle and this book they can!!!!

> 3 dayWhen I was a child (literally ages ago) I had a set of records with children’s stories set to classical music. One of these was Madeleine. I listened to that one over and over. There are many delightful children’s books these days, but Madeleine is a classic. I still love the story, and appeals to younger children because of the rhyming. I bought this book for a young friend with the idea she would read it to younger kids at her school. She adores this story.
