> 3 dayI had been using a traditional third hand tool for years (2 alligator clips on a short pole with a magnifying glass in the middle) and it was never really great. I got back into soldering again recently and saw that new third hand tools were out now, and so first tried one with a similar design but plastic arms. it was awful. Tried this one next and the difference was AMAZING. My only complaint is I wish it came with a light like some others do

25-11-2024Spent a little more on this but probably should have bought one of the cheaper options. The clamp included with this works pretty well but hard to get tight enough. The small clips are thin and seem low quality.

> 3 dayThis item is heavier than the description suggests. The parts appears to be of good quality. I thought the arm was defective but it turns out that the knob in the center of the arm also tightens the joint at the top and bottom of the arm. How ingenious is this. I also received an extra alligator clip and attaching screw. Update: After using for a project that required the clamp on the arm, I am deducting a star. The round nut that adjusts the clamp can get stripped if over tightened. It is made of plastic

> 3 dayCant believe I ever worked without this!! Magnets are very strong. Little plastic clamp handle covers pop off but I used a touch of adhesive and no further issues. This thing is everything the ad says and more, huge thumbs up!

> 3 dayone of the hands didnt have threads for the lockscrew. had to tap it myself. minor manufacturing flaw, easily rectified but not a perfect product.

> 3 dayBall joint at base of articulated clamp loosened immediately and cannot be tightened. This made the clamp totally unusable as it would settle down and also freely rotate side to side. The flex arms are somewhat OK - but move and settle a bit. Cant just position and forget.

> 3 dayThe longer arms are pretty weak at holding anything in position. The clips constantly moved on me and would spin when trying to solder. The hot gun glue holder would constantly come unscrewed from the the base. I bought this because of all the positive reviews. Maybe I got a bad unit. Not worth the money.
