06-06-2025I have owned this bag for just over 3 months now, I have taken it on 3 planes (American, United, and Delta) without issues of fitting it under the seat in front of me while being quite full. Beyond that I take it out of my house when I go on photoshoots or weekend family events about once or twice a week. I have no concerns yet of it losing integrity. The material it is made of is not so thick where if you snagged it on something sharp it would hold up. I havent used it outdoors a whole lot hiking through the woods or anything like that. But for just general travel in urban areas I dont see it degrading anytime soon. My favorite part of the bag is the zipper pocket behind your lower back that can be accessed relatively easily while wearing it. I like to put my wallet and keys in there. The number of pockets/compartments on this bag is quite overwhelming at times lol, not that its a bad thing, but I havent quite figured out a system for myself to know where something is every single time. I would highly recommend if you dont plan to take it into old abandoned houses, it might hold up on a camping trip just fine as well but I havent tried. I think this bag shines as a carry on for an airplane, especially if you have a laptop.

> 3 dayThis is a great carry-on travel backpack for one-bag travel. There are countless exterior and interior pockets to organize my travel items for easy access during the journey. The main interior pocket will fit many large items. There is even a dedicated shoe bag to separate shoes or other items from clothing although that will eat into your cargo space. I especially love the separate padded laptop pocket. I have do 2 nits though: 1) it does not have any compression straps on the inside or outside. Therefore, if the bag is not full, items may shift around inside the bag. However, since I use packing cubes and usually pack to the limit, its not a deal-breaker for me. 2) There is no extra panel to zip up the backpack straps to prevent them from catching on seats. Once again, this is also not a deal-breaker. This is my 4th Matein bag and I am overall very satisfied with the price/quality of this bag. It is 1/3 the price of my beloved eBags Mother Lode and has many of the bells and whistles. Great deal!

> 3 dayTo be fair, all I wanted was a backpack to take with me to work. To carry my laptop, lunch, umbrella, and a couple of books. It does all that perfectly well, but that isnt asking a lot right? So then I started taking it on flights; meets TSA requirements. I love the shoe compartment. I havent tried the USB port (that would connect to your own charged battery pack that you leave in the backpack) but its a clever idea. The padding on the straps is plush. Super comfortable. At this price, I expected the zipper to be garbage and stitches to pop out thru light use, but nope. Ive been using this backpack every day for 4 months and its still perfect. So much room inside the main compartment. Even the secondary compartment for the laptop is ample AND padded. Great purchase!

> 3 dayThe only thing I didnt love about this bag was that there is no chest buckle or hip strap. This made it uncomfortable to carry through the airport while also wheeling other luggage. I realize that a hip strap is a lot to ask of a backpack this size, but I think a chest strap would make a big difference and other models by this company have one. However you can fit a lot of stuff into it (which makes it heavy, which is why you need a chest buckle) and it does fit under an airplane seat.

> 3 dayIll first say that this backpack does seem durable however Im not holding on to it long enough to find out if it proves to be. It does seem to be made of good thick materials and zippers and it has tons of pockets and compartments. But all the compartments are designed on the lower part of the bag so that you cant adjust / distribute the weight to higher and more accessible spots. There are two zippers on the front outside pockets that are nice, but the rest of the bag is three massive compartments (or black holes, rather) of nothingness. There is a laptop compartment. If you try and maximize its space, all your items will fall to the bottom of the bag and load in poorly for actually putting it on your back. I could never find anything in it either. I think the USB charger (I never used) should transform into a flashlight and a snorkel because thats what you will need to go deep into the bag to find anything. I will say I am 57 and the bag was FAR too long / tall on my back, which, with the poor weight distribution, was a recipe for a bad back. It feels like its designed for a 63 man with a long torso. Im returning.

04-06-2025Got this for grandson to use on his class trip, as I figured his regular backpack wont be big enough. It seems like it will be perfect for the job.

> 3 dayI bought for my son and husband and they both like the many pockets and the look of it. We’ll see how it holds up on our next trip. I will update my review then. Gave it 5 stars just based on looks.

> 3 dayI was excited to use this backpack for a 6-day trip. I loved the number of zippers and compartments it has. Big bonus points for two small zippers on the front that stored my passport, headphones, and gum pack. I had easy access to those items at any time. Huge bonus points for the shoe pouch that protected my clothes from potential dirty shoes. The only thing that prevented a 5-star review was the lack of ability to compact, or slim down, the backpack. It does not have an expandable zipper or clips to make it slimmer. Once I unpacked I used it daily to carry laptop, iPad, headphones, and documents.I found it a bit too bulky for everyday use. I still recommend it!
