Ive been struggling with this drive (160GB) for 3 days. First, I couldnt format it on Mac. It arrives formatted as exFAT/MBR and I wanted to change to Mac Journaled/GUID. Nope. Every erase or formatting attempt on Mac returned an error (I also tried APFS). So I decided to just use it on Windows, but that doesnt work either. Every time I start writing documents to it, I get a Fatal Device Error. Then if a few documents write successfully, the drive immediately disappears from Explorer, and I cant eject it properly because its not there. When I disconnect it and reconnect it, Windows tells me the drive needs to be repaired. I click Repair and Windows says its fine, but then we cycle through the errors again. This last time, it locked up my PC and I couldnt even Ctrl-Alt-Del out of it. Im not going to return it because I was backing up confidential work documents and at this point I cant be sure of whats on it :-(

I got this hard disk to get backup of backup for my important files. But this hard drive actually turned out to work better than I thought. Transfer speeds are quick and there was no hesitation while the file began to transfer. Like it.

I was surprised that this is a real HDD drive for so cheap. It is not a pen drive with a top cover. Reading writing is very fast. Its compact and light weight and hence easy to carry around. I transferred most of the useful data from my last laptop to it so that I can carry it around with me.

Inexpensive but awesome. Thin, easy setup, reliable. I have the 320G and 1T and very happy with them for backups and portability.

Though the instructions are slim-to-none and require a magnifying glass to read, and though I have an older OS (Windows 7), this is a totally plug-and-play external drive. Windows 7 popped up with a message that it couldnt find a driver for it, but it didnt matter because the drive works regardless. Dont worry about the tiny instructions and ignore Windows. The drive does precisely what its supposed to do.

She’s a beast and I love her. I bought this to go to Bonnaroo here in Manchester Tennessee not far from my house but Bonnaroo was postponed and it was canceled so I had no need for this charger but she’s so beautiful and she’s there for me when the power goes out here. I need her in my life. She’s beautiful and I’m keeping her.

Plugged it in, reformatted, and created mirror image backup of my computers hard drive. Simple as that.
