Mens Hair Pomade by American Crew, Medium Hold with High Shine, 3 Oz (Pack of 2)

I am 80 and have frizzy thining hair. This product does a good job. I put a little on my hand,wet my hands, and rub my scalp. Hair stays in place and not matted down. Product last a long time.

Was hoping it was like the medium hold pomade where you can run your fingers through your hair. That’s not case as the heavy hold hardens like a gel would. You notice immediately when taking it out of the jar how sticky it is. You have limited time to style unlike the medium hold pomade. Another downside is there is no shine like you get w/ the medium hold pomade. Basically if you want a matte finish that hardens and holds you hair in place than this is for you. If you are expecting a high shine with a higher hold but can still run your fingers through your hair then the high hold is not the product for you.

Look out for other American crew products on here. Some of it is fake. But this one is real and great products!

This is a great product! Have been using it for years. Glad they haven’t changed the recipe! And it smells great!! Great hold as well.

Im not sure what to say about the other reviewers who have claimed to get a substandard product (yellow, smelly). This is my first time using this product. Mine seems to be clear (its a dark container) and smells like a hair product. I have very curly hair, and to go without product would result in an undesirable poof of fluff. Likewise, I have no desire to slick my hair into highly gelled wet-looking but hard-as-a-rock curls. This product puts me nicely in the middle, and leaves my hair controlled throughout the day while retaining a nice finish (slight luster, but not wet) and without a feeling of residue. The product feels very thick when you scoop it out and rub it on your hands, but when run through damp hair, thins out nicely. I only use my fingers (rather than a comb) because I like to keep the curls and avoid the potential for frizz / fluff. If you are like me, with curly hair and havent found a happy solution to control the curls while avoiding using multiple products, this is definitely worth a try.

I’m not sure if people are using this the wrong way or what... but it’s perfect. The only thing wrong is the price is a little high for my taste. But it last months. I have thick hair (medium length) that curls after 2+ inches and never have a problem. Use on damp hair after a shower and it will have the hold for any hair. For shine - you might want your hair a little more on the wet side, but even damp/almost dry hair it provides a nice shine that isn’t overwhelming. I won’t be using anything other than this
