Amazing router few to zero problems, never restart. If you are not a geek you may have trouble with setup. Setup is not bad just a little technical

Greatly improved the performance and security of our home/small business network. The GUI allows me to easily setup what I want and dont want. I was a little intimidated by other reviews, but it was straight forward. I had all the ports set up and doing what was needed in less than 20 minutes.

While this is a great 10 port router with tons of processing power. Firmware updates have caused Problems with the SFP+ port. Some users of the wireless version report that 5G radio shuts off entirely. So if you dont need/use either of those features.... its an EXTREMELY powerful router. But remember... its still RouterOS on a Mikrotik... so to really take advantage of it... you need specialized knowledge.

I recently upgraded my Internet connection from 100 Gbps to 200 Gbps. After the change, the upload speed increased as expected (from 15 to 20 Gbps) but no real change in download speed. Bypassing my firewall (a rather old Mikrotik RB750G) and connecting directly to the modem, I got full speed. I tried streamlining the firewall rules a bit, but when stressed it was running at close to 90% CPU. It obviously couldnt keep up. Bought this to replace it. It comes with a reasonable set of firewall rules from the factory, so all I had to do was add in my port mapping rules for some internal computers, configure my static IP from my ISP and change the default network addresses to match my 10.x.x.x internal networks. That done, it gives full download speed without breaking a sweat. It also has double the number of ports that the old router had, so I was able to eliminate an 8 port switch too.

The 4011 has good bang for your buck. It took a while to setup since networking is not my strong suit. Mikrotiks setup guide was very helpful along with the community

Instantly sped up my network by eliminating bottlenecks.

The RB4011 uses the amazingly powerful quad core Cortex A15 chip from Annapurna labs, an Amazon company, same as in our carrier grade RB1100AHx4 unit. The CPU supports IPsec hardware acceleration, there is 1GB of RAM, so this device will easily handle any task you have configured RouterOS to perform. All of this power, in a compact and professional looking solid metal enclosure in matte black. In addition to the ten 1 Gbps ethernet ports, an SFP+ port provides optional 10 Gbps connectivity through an SFP+ module (not included). All of this power, in a compact and professional looking solid metal enclosure in matte black. The ethernet model includes two rackmount ears, that will securely fasten the unit in standard 1U rack space.
