Purchased to distribute a video to family members. 4 of the 5 worked fine, 1 does not read at all. The computer doesnt even see its connected. Still a good price for 4 though :)

Chinese thumb drives are hit or miss. These Mosdart 16GB drives are better than others Ive tested that look the same. Ive done a capacity test using FakeFlashTest and a full read write test using H2testw on two of the 5 and they both passed. I also ran a CrystalDiskMark speed test and read speeds came in around 24 MB/sec which is respectable for a USB 2 drive. Write speeds were around 11-12 MB/sec which is also respectable given the price. Running ChipGenius these are supposedly made by Alcor Micro but show up as Generic and the actual flash is supposedly MLC by Toshiba. The VID is 058F and the PID is 6387. Interestingly these have a red LED inside but only a few of the colors let the LED shine through. The LED blinks when youre accessing the drive and is on steady when its recognized by your operating system. Bottom line: I wouldnt trust any important data to these. And, if youre in a hurry, opt for name brand USB 3 drives for only a few dollars more per drive. The trick with the big brands (especially Sandisk) is avoiding fake counterfits from China. At least with these youre not paying for a name brand and getting a generic Chinese drive anyway.

UPDATE 2/20/19 MosDART Customer Service contacted me and offered solutions for the issues I had with the thumb drives. Since I already purchased replacements I opted for a refund. Well done MosDART! 2 of the flash drives stopped working. Id get a message that a repair was needed. Clicked on repair then got a message that the file couldnt be read. After reading the reviews for these I though Id have something reliable. I was very disappointed. Ordered 2 SanDisk flash drives. No problems yet!

made sure all 5 worked. One of them was also put under heavy use because one of the PCs gave up, had to zero the usb stick out for memtest, then made a linux installation media out of it, then used the usb stick like that for over a month, and finally installed the system into the hard drive recently. The single usb stick I used is still intact after all of that and Im more than thankful for it

I purchased these back in March 2021. Its been nearly a year and so far no issues at all. I especially like the little pamphlet that came with it describing how to format the drive as Fat32 which I needed in order to be able to use these drives in my car.

I needed 5 USBs to enter some projects into a showcase. Each entry had to be on a separate USB. I didnt need them to have much space. After a trip to the local office stores I was only finding USBs that were much more expensive and had much more space unless I settled for a childs one shaped like an animal or star was. Even then it was 9.99 for one and it wasnt professional to turn those in. These worked great and come in a nice little box that I will store them in till the next showcase comes around.

***EDIT*** After leaving the original poor review, the seller (possibly importer/manufacturer as well?) reached out to me and offered to send me a free USB flash drive from another batch to test. After testing it by copying several large sets of data, formatting, then using Rufus to create a bootable Linux install image on the USB - I can confirm that the unit they sent me does not exhibit the same issue. Its possible that the batch I originally received was just faulty, so be aware of that. ***ORIGINAL*** These USB drives are complete junk, do not purchase - spend the extra money to get a reputable brand. I purchased these to use for quick/temporary storage; since they would be used for non-essential data that was backed up elsewhere - I thought getting off brand USB drives would be ok. No such luck. Grabbed one drive and started a transfer of about 2GB worth of files; immediately I noticed just how slow the transfer was. Now these are advertised as USB2.0 drives, so the speed will definitely not compare to newer USB3.0 drives, but I have other USB2.0 drives from mainstream brands that are several times faster. But again, temp storage (forget about being quick now), so was willing to live with the slow speeds. But the transfer speed kept dropping and dropping, after a couple of hours (yes, hours) - then transfer speed was basically at 0; then Windows threw an error and said the drive was no longer visible. Removed and reinserted the drive and Windows was able to see it again - however it saw it as unformatted. Formatted the drive and tried the transfer again, same story - after a couple of hours Windows no longer saw the drive and the transfer errorred out; except that this time when it was removed/reinserted - Windows would see it, report that it was unformatted, but be unable to format it. The drive was basically dead, after being used for only several hours. I thought this might be a fluke, one bad drive out of 5; I tried it with a second drive and the story repeated itself. Save yourself the hassle and headache of a return and just avoid this junk.

Very inexpensive, but good quality. Sometimes the sneaker net is the only way to transport data, and these USB sticks help enormously. Highly recommended!
