> 3 dayI think the MOVA 5.5” globe black and copper is the best globe. It is beautiful and mysterious. It quietly occupies a section on my desk and it sits there slowly turning the beautiful continents around and around. This is not a toy. It is relaxing to watch and if you are a Geek kind of guy this is a must have item.

> 3 dayThis is my second Mova globe. The first one was the 4.5 Satellite View with Cloud Cover. It had an interesting look, but I kind of like the white and gold one better. But with any of the Mova globes, the effect is astonishing. Two things pop into mind that make anyone scratch their head wondering how the laws of physics can be defied: 1) How does it just keep turning with nothing driving it, and 2) How does it touch the stand with apparently no friction whatsoever. I had the first globe for years before it started acting inconsistently recently, so I just replaced it with this new one. The globe sat on my desk in my office, which is somewhat bright with fluorescent lights. I never needed to put it near a window. I wish I had a nickel for every person who stopped to look at it, stooping to look underneath it, shifting positions, staring, moving around it, with a puzzled look on their face. When I first saw a Mova globe on someones desk, I couldnt take my eyes off of it. I had to have one. Im a geek, both professionally and personally. This globe cant be beat by how it looks, how it works, and the sheer effect it has on the observer. I tip my hat to the genius who invented this work of technical art.

> 3 dayWorks as advertised. However, it is made of two separate globes one within the other, floating in a fluid. Doesnt take much light to get it moving as long as its directional. Also, It only looks like silver on black when the light when it is not coming from the rear, otherwise it looks purple and silver. I have had it for a month now and it hasnt broken, it has been shaken once but never dropped. On average it seems to rotate at about 1 revolution per 50 sec, but it would appear to be dependent on the amount of provided light. I would recommend this, if your looking for a tasteful globe that rotates on its own without batteries or wires. In fact the provided base is not necessary.
