MOVA Globe Metallic Black and Silver 4.5

I bought this for my dad for Father’s Day (you know, the guy who has everything and wants nothing). It’s on the dining table where he and my mom sit to eat most meals, so anytime they are sitting the light over it is on and it’s spinning. Everyone is fascinated by it, definitely a conversation starter and it’s something he is definitely enjoying! I’m pretty sure my husband will be getting one next :) The packaging is great and it’s very simple to put together!

This is a beautiful Globe, however I am disappointed that unless there is direct light right on it, it will not rotate. I believe this may be a faulty globe..... I have seen several of these that rotate wonderfully without direct light right on it...

I realy like this globe. Its expensive though , but if you understand how it works you wont be disappointed. It looks very nice and well built. It should last for years with proper care.

The globe is very handsome and adds a classy touch to a room or office. Everyone who has seen it has complimented its design and is intrigued by its turning without an electric or battery power source. The only knock Id give it is that the seam located where the Equator would be is not perfect... South America on either side of the seam is lined up perfectly, but Africa is off slightly. It wasnt enough for my boyfriend to allow me to go through the hassle of exchanging it, but given the price I was slightly disappointed in this flaw.

Great gift

I came to know of these globes through the YouTube content creator Jeremy from TheQuartering. After visiting their Amazon store I settled on this , they have sooooo many globes to choose from and it really was a hard decision to make but theyre a bit on the expensive side and I can only afford one so I chose the black and silver globe , two colors that could be considered my favorites. They compliment each other beautifully. There is a problem with my globe though its not a deal breaker , it doesnt begin turning when light hits it , I have to pick it up and turn it over and over a few times before setting it back in place , then it rotates smoothly , that kind of sucks but its not the end of the world , I may put it in a display are with its own 24/7 light to keep it rotating. Im glad I got this and will get some more as time goes by. Jupiter and Uranus are two that look amazing!

bought this to replace one that was given to me and someone dropped doesnt seem to be as rotating as the first...I did use the original base the original one came on so hope that is not the reason overall I love it, it is a great gift (I got mine for my military retirement) -- it is a special thing to have I do overall love it

I got this black metallic mova globe a gift for my boyfriend after seeing it in a gift shop in Chicagos Adler Planetarium (but went home and purchased it on Amazon instead because I love Amazon haha). He is really into maps, globes, anything space related. When he saw this in the shop he thought it was so neat. However, that planetarium gift shop is very well lit with lots of windows. He has one window in the room where he keeps this and it never has enough light to make it spin. Weve tried several other rooms in the house and his office and it just doesnt work consistently no matter what we try. It is still very pretty on the desktop and makes a great statement piece, but I am disappointed that we cant find an appropriate area in the house where it can move on its own. Also, I think it was way overpriced. My rating is 3 stars, which may be too high based on the price and how much sunlight it requires to work. I was disappointed, but it was still a thoughtful gift and is very beautiful.
