> 24 hourHaving graduated from gaming laptops and building my first desktop PC, I was in the market for a new monitor to pair with my RTX 3060ti. I primarily play simulators and driving games (American Truck Simulator, Dirt Rally, Farming Simulator) so a wide aspect ratio was attractive to me. I knew a 1440p wide monitor would be pushing up against what I was comfortable with asking of my GPU, so the MAG301RF seemed to be a perfect fit. Not massive, but the additional side space makes a huge difference. The pricepoint of this monitor is a fantastic value for anyone wanting to get into wide monitors, and the refresh rate and response time only sweeten the deal.

> 24 hourThis is a tldr review first impression since Ive not had it long. I bought direct from Amazon rather than 3rd party. I received all necessary items, including the power brick. So if youre worried buy from Amazon certified. The monitor impresses out of the box, feels fast, has pleasant color reproduction. No noticeable artifacts. Ips bleed was very good on my model, barely noticeable. Out of the box it might be crushing blacks which is odd for an ips, is probably fixable with some tweaking. Its worth noting I used 165hz 10 bit, which might be affecting things in normal 8 bit rgb range. Not worth doing since HDR support is an afterthought but its also doubtful this monitor can hold 200hz stable. That is just how it be with these ips screens. It is way better than normal FHD, the extra fov you get is fantastic. edit: Automatic aspect ratio is broken, so on games that dont scale to 16:9 even with GPU scaling enabled require you to go into the OSD. It is a missed opportunity that you cannot make a shortcut to aaspect ratio config. This monitor has poor gamma settings, night vision is the closest to a gamma setting, but it just overblooms things. AI Nightvision is just weird as well. Other than that the colors on this monitor are really, really good. It is fun to play with, and those negatives dont affect gameplay, but if youre like me it will eat at you slowly. Unfortunately there arent many good options in the 30in UW category (34in is too big for me)

> 24 hourI bought 2 of these for a dual setup. So far, love them. My only issue is that the screen isnt a little higher to even out how wide it is. Other than that, great monitor, would recommend.

> 24 hourI have a smaller desk and bought a 34 ultrawide but it didnt fit in my space nicely so I switched it for this. Also, the 34 was a VA panel. While the blacks looked nice on the 34, this 29 IPS beats it in terms of colors and response time. So this is pretty much like a 24 monitor but widened. I love using the extra real estate for a better workflow. For gaming, it provides better immersion. I love this thing so far.

> 24 hourI have a 240hz 25” Alienware monitor but wanted to try ultrawide gaming against the recommendation of everyone I game with. I was given a bunch of reasons why a competitive FPS player shouldn’t go ultrawide but after setting this monitor up, I have completely shut those ideas out. I am beyond happy with the picture quality and performance. The picture is beautiful, the response is snappy, and I have no noticeable ghosting. Also, it’s 30”, not 34+, and I do not find myself turning my head to see the whole screen as I was warned about by my buddies and from what I was reading online. SO…If you’re worried about whether or not it’s viable to play FPS(or any games really) on an ultrawide I’d give this a shot as the price point isn’t absurdly high like most of its competitors. Bang for your buck is an understatement, I absolutely love it.

> 24 hourFor almost 12 years I was using a more square 28 monitor but it began having problems, I looked around and noticed this monitor, it had good reviews and Amazon had the best price. I didnt realize how much more wide the screen was until I unboxed it, I was unsure how much I would like the width, I do some light video and photo work but I dont game, I do watch a few movies and youtube. After using the first few times Ive come to favor this monitor over the last one, much more. I have two desktop computers, the other desktop computer uses the exact style monitor that I was using before it went bad on this desktop now using the MSI, I prefer this MSI. This MSI is a flat screen, it has good colors and works perfectly! The MSI monitor comes with several types of connectors, I am using the MDMI 1, it has no VGA which I was using on the previous monitor.
