Nite Ize Original Steelie Magnetic Phone Socket - Additional Magnet for Steelie Phone Mounting Systems

Ive been using Steelie for a few years now, this is the first time that the magnets metal coating chipped within a month from purchasing it. They usually last me a looooong time. Wondering if its a manufacturing defect or second hand manufacturer? Since this has never happened, I give it the 4 stars instead of 5.

Just ordered mine my plan is to attach one side to a Apple Maglock Charging puck and the other to my car. Then I can just attach my iPhone 12 Plus with a Maglock case to the charging puck and it will pivot using the Steele. Exactly what I was looking for.

Ive had a Steelie socket for 3 or 4 phones now, but this one doesnt seem to attach to the ball as strongly as the others. It attaches to other metal with the same pull as the last ones though.

Good sturdy product but my Samsung Note 8 was just too heavy for this magnet to hold it up.

This piece adhears to the phone well but not much use if the ball will not stay stuck to dash.

Have had the car vent mount for a couple of years now with no problems. Ive tried several different brands and they all couldnt grab the vent well enough to not be pulled off after just a few pulls of retrieving the phone. Others would fail to hold the phone in place if I hit a bump or dip in the road, no such incidents with Nite Ize. Nite Ize has a latch which holds the vent adapter very tight and secure. I just discovered they released the Orbiter which comes with an even larger magnet and disc. This thing is amazing. You can tilt your phone in any direction and it stays put.
