If you are buying this expecting a Notcua quality fan, DO NOT BUY. I had this and three NF-F12s except this was so loud. I highly recommend Notcua but this is a horrible fan. It is way too loud!

I buy Nocuta fans because theyre efficient and quiet. These are even called Quiet fans, but they sound like a helicopter spinning up, Im so confused. I used the anti-vibration pads they come with and still it sounds like a plane taking off. I set the fan curve to 10% and I can still very much hear them. My computer was completely silent before. I dunno if these are just defective, but its two separate fans that I bought, would be a big coincidence if they were both defective.

Used in a SFF build and they work phenomenal. Good for the price. Also really like the idea that you can change the colors.

Noctua is great I guess because everyone says so. Im running UNRAID and although I need to upgrade to something better, Im trying to keep this one going a little longer. Dropped $50 on two of these slim ones to fit between the plastic front panel of my Dell T30 and the case metal, and it fit! So points for being nice and slim. I plugged them direct to power (through a sata adapter/splitter) and holy crap they are super unbearably loud! Others have said the same thing....I should have listened. I probably should have realized that I needed a fan speed controller, but I didnt and now just a bit salty that Im sending another $25 to Noctua for their PWM controller. Im $75 into this, which is about $30 more than I had hoped to spend on extra cooling. On the plus side, my 4 10TB drives (2 in each upper and lower drive bays) are running cool as a cucumber around 35C after 9 hours into a preclear, so thats a big improvement from the 45-50C+ temperature warnings I kept getting. Hopefully when I slow down those fans to a reasonable noise level Il still have reasonably good temperatures...well see! If Im not happy Ill edit this post.

This is a noctua fan. Cant get better than noctua. I dont like two things that they continue to do in their chromax black line of fans. The chromax line is for better aesthetics, yet they continue to have some kind of code number printed in white on one side of the fan frame, which makes it look ugly. These fans immediately terminate onto a 4pin female connector instead of including a decent length cable that terminates onto a 4 pin male connector like almost all other fans in existence do and all other noctua fans do. This makes cable management more annoying, as with the included extensions youll end up having a much longer cable than their standard fans and youll also have to cable manager a bulky connector right next to the fan whereas with the brown fans, if you needed an extension, itd be far enough away that itd mostly be out of sight and easier to cable manager. Tragically, noctua does make versions of the chromax black fans that have this last issue resolved, but they only come with the chromax coolers. So, if you dont want the bulky female fan connector edition of these fans, youre only option is to buy a chromax cooler that has the fan you want and then resell the cooler without the fan or something and keep the fan for yourself.

I got these to use in my NCASE M1. I have the Noctua NH-U9S air cooler and was going to put this fan on the back part of the case to serve as a rear intake to feed in fresh air to the cooler. I was excited to use these since I wanted to have a black fan and I heard these were silent... Theyre not silent at all.

If you plan on using this in a SSF case and having it on your desktop, this isnt it. Starting at around 1200 RPM this thing starts to whine like crazy. Best Ive found is to set it at around 1000 RPM and leave it. I have it currently mounted up as exhaust in a NCASE M1. Still a great little fan but I will be using it for a different application.

Having received dozens of awards and recommendations from international hardware websites and magazines, the NF-A9x14 has established itself as a default choice when it comes to premium-quality slim 92mm fans. The chromax.black.swap edition combines the NF-A9x14’s signature quiet cooling performance with an attractive all-black design and a bundle of self-adhesive red, white, blue, green, yellow and black anti-vibration pads that allow the colour-customisation of the fan to match individual build colour schemes. Topped off with Noctua’s trusted premium-grade SSO2 bearing and more than 150,000 hours MTTF, the NF-9x14 PWM chromax.black.swap is the perfect choice for all users who value individual, focused build aesthetics just as much as class-leading quality and performance.

14mm low profile design

Measuring only 14mm in thickness, the NF-A9x14 is much slimmer than standard 92x25mm fans. This makes it ideal for all applications where standard fans would take up too much space, such as low profile CPU coolers in HTPC builds or server environments.

Self-adhesive anti-vibration pads in 6 colours

The NF-A9x14 PWM chromax.black.swap comes with 8 swappable, self-adhesive anti-vibration pads in black, white, red, blue, green and yellow respectively, which allow the fan to be fully colour-customised in order to coordinate it with other components or popular build schemes.

SSO2 bearing

The NF-A9x14 features the further optimised second generation of Noctua"s renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability.

Flow Acceleration Channels

The fan’s impeller features suction side Flow Acceleration Channels. By speeding up the airflow at the crucial outer blade regions, this measure reduces suction side flow separation and thus leads to better efficiency and lower vortex noise.

Optional coloured cables

Noctua’s chromax line fans use a modular cabling system and come pre-fitted with a fully sleeved black NA-EC1 30cm cable. For refined colour coordination, white, red, blue, green and yellow 30cm NA-EC1 cables plus corresponding NA-YC1 y-cables are available separately.

a9x14a9x14

Maximising colour choices, the NF-A9x14 chromax.black.swap fan can be colour-customised using the included self-adhesive anti-vibration pads as well as optional coloured cables. This makes it ideal for enthusiasts looking for a true premium-grade fan that can be colour-coordinated with popular build themes such as all black, black & white or black & red.
